Life slowed down considerably here this week and I am enjoying the space. Space is my word for 2025 and I am doing my best to live into it. With a much lighter workload. at least until my new contract starts, I made time this week to see friends, spend time with family, and get around to doing things I’d been putting off.
Enjoying the Space
The holiday season officially drew to a close when we took Thing 2 to the airport so she could head back to campus for Spring Semester. While school doesn’t start for another week, she returned early for the sorority rush. It’s been an exciting time for me…er…I mean her…if one enjoys rollercoaster rides…and I can’t wait to see where she ends up. Eeek! Sorority rush is not for the faint of heart…just saying.
Here’s how the week in workouts went:
Sunday: Walk 4 miles, 30 mins. Bike Hills & Sprint Intervals + Core and Foam Roll
Monday: Walk 4 miles, Full-Body Strength + Mobility
Tuesday: Walk 4 miles otherwise rest
Wednesday: Walk 4 miles, otherwise rest
Thursday: Walk 4 miles, 30 mins treadmill run, Stretch & Sauna
Friday: Walk 4 miles, Treadmill intervals + Strength and Core work
Saturday: Walk 4 miles, Heavy Strength + Sauna
Our weather has been all over the place this week. From mild and windy to downright frigid, however our outdoor walking game stayed on point. We’re coming up on the 5-year anniversary of our daily walks which started when the world shut down due to Covid. Can you believe it’s been that long?
Running however, is not so hot lately. I’ve had nagging hip pain that comes and goes, and lately I know in my gut that running isn’t a good idea, although I ran a bit on the treadmill. Thursday’s run felt okay-ish, but not so much on Friday. A visit to the Bone and Joint Institute is in my future.
I’m still doing well with the push-up goal I set at the beginning of the year. I’m up to 3 sets of 10 good-form push-ups. That third set is tough but I’m getting it.
How was your week? Are you going strong with your goals? How’s your weather?
I’m linking up with Kim and Deborah for the Weekly Run Down. Join us!

I’m glad you’re finding space and setting boundaries. This should be a much better time for you. It was great to see you last week–we need to do that more often!
