Hello and happy holidays! This is it, 2024 is fading fast and it’s time to sit down one last time to bare our souls and soles before we ring in 2025. Can you believe it? Let’s open up the Runfessional for the final runfessions of 2024.
Final Runfessions of 2024
Our weather has turned considerably more wintery recently and my trails were somewhat deep in snow and muck. I runfess that while my outdoor walking game stayed on point, I took many of my workouts to the pain cave and the treadmill. I’m especially loving the hybrid hike at incline/run workout I cooked up.
I’m grateful both of our kids were able to make it in ahead of the holiday travel rush. They’ve been very good sports about joining me out on the trails. I runfess though that more walking happens than actual running. I also runfess that I’m A-OK with that! Ha!
This Oreo cheesecake was back on the holiday table, by popular demand. I runfess it makes fabulous running fuel, alas I haven’t been doing a ton of running. I runfess I’ll have to take that proverbial bull by the horns in January and get back on track then.
Let the record show January marks the 24th birthday of my treadmill. She may be nowhere near as smooth or fancy as newer models but I runfess I don’t even think about replacing her. That motor of hers is a real workhorse and I highly doubt there’s anything out there like it these days.
Okay you’re turn! What have you to runfess?
I’m also linking up with My First 5K and More, Running With Attitude, Run Laugh Eat Pie, Runs with Pugs, and Zenaida for Fit Five Friday.

They don’t make things like they used to so definitely keep your treadmill!
Enjoy your daughters! There’s nothing wrong with walking so you can enjoy more time with them.
Kimberly Hatting says
I’m extremely envious of all your walking! I need to make a concerted effort to log more walking miles (after my run streak concludes). Yay for all that quality time with your girls 😉
Catrina says
I absolutely love your daughters’ hair—especially the color! Gorgeous!
And hey, if it ain’t broke, no need to fix it—definitely stick with the trusty old workhorse.
Lumen will have you back on track in January, so for now, just soak up the time with your kids (and that Oreo cake!). Enjoy every bit of it!

How nice that your girls will go out with you.
Glad your tread is still trusty! It’s nice to have something so dependable — and options for staying warm and dry!
That cheesecake!

I’m so glad your girls are going out on the trail with you! Grown children are the best, aren’t they?
My TM was 22 when it died–yours must be taking treadmill Viagra or something! Keep it going!
Deborah Brooks says
That Oreo pie I does look splurge worthy! So glad you are also spending some fab time with your kids. December is for having fun and not worrying about all the food stuff-for me to 🙂
Renée says
I’m hoping my TM lasts just as long!!!
I runfess I walk A LOT these days – my favorite way to run is 400/100 intervals. I can just do it for longer and I don’t feel like I’m dying!!
Michelle says
So fun to have your girls join you on the trails! Will they both be home for a bit?
24 yrs is damn impressive for a treadmill – no way the more recent models will last as long!

Is Thing 2 still running at school? Awesome to have the kids home.
24 years – they don’t make things that well any more. My car is also almost 24 – LOL.
Have a happy new year!
