Well July, what can I say? You contained some of the best of times and some of the worst of times. Like it or not, time marches on and before we turn the calendar page over to August, it’s time to open the Runfessional, and talk about those relics in the basement.
July Runfessions: Relics in the Basement
I runfess I’ve been running on the treadmill and I like it. Half of July was hotter than Hades here with wicked daily thunderstorms. Those conditions made me say eff it and just get on the old mill. I hadn’t done any indoor running since who knows when, but I quickly remembered that I actually enjoy it.
I runfess I found my old Vapor Flys in the basement and I love them. They were gifted to me one Christmas, because it’s not in my genetic makeup to spend >$250 (at the time) on a pair of running shoes. Because they are so expensive, I’ve used them sparingly, “saving” them…for what exactly? Let the record show I’m using them now and enjoying them immensely.
Because I’ve been spending more time in the pain cave, I also realized that my foam roller has been severely neglected lately. I resumed a foam rolling routine and I runfess it hurts!
Ok your turn: What do you have to runfess? Any “relics” that have gone unused?
I’m linking up with Darlene, Michelle, Renee, Jenn and Zenaida, for Fit Five Friday. Join us!

It definitely feels spicy to return to the foam roller after a break. Feels so good afterwards though. Admittedly, I am kind of afraid to go looking around my basement! I cannot get myself to run on the tread but I am loving walking and hiking on it. Thanks for the link up

I was just thinking about my foam roller the other day. I have no idea where it’s hiding, LOL.I use my Theragun all the time, though, so I’m not feeling too much guilt over the foam roller’s absence.

I actually runfessed about a relic of sorts today.
I’m glad your shoes are still in good shape. I’ve had some (non-running) shoes actually crumble on me — I guess those hard rubber soles don’t last forever!
I hope July ends on a good note and that August is a better month from start to end.

I’ve done a couple treadmill runs this week, and enjoyed them! I’m so happy to be running, I don’t care where I am. Those Vapor Flys were a nice gift! Glad you’re finally enjoying them. And… I’ve been foam rolling lately. I don’t think it ever gets easier!

Coming back to the foam roller is really hard. I know this has been a rough month for you, and I do hope things ease up soon.
Look at those shoes! I’m glad you are getting use out of them!

I did some TM running this month, too!
I have a lot of relics and my foam roller also needs some love!

Oh no, I would not spend USD 250 on a pair of shoes either!
Yours look nice, it’s a good idea to start using them. I tend to “save” my good shoes for races only, but then it will take years to use them up.
I’ve been running more in the forests to get some shade, it helps a bit.
Your medal rack is so impressive!

I admit I tried to run on the treadmill in a hotel and quit after one mile. It was warm and I had no headphones…
My massage gun which I love has been ignored lately.
