It was a quieter start to the week on the work front and I was grateful for that. Despite a quieter work week, I’m already feeling that MAYhem vibe. It was prom weekend, AP exams are sneaking up, Mother’s Day will be here before we know it, and all the end-of school stuff along with graduation is coming in hot. I’ve got parties to plan, gifts to buy, house guests to prepare for…you know the drill. All that said, it was a decent week workout-wise. Here’s how it went:
Sunday: Walk 4 miles, Strength + Core
Monday: Walk 4 miles, Trail Run 4 miles
Tuesday: Walk 4 miles, rest day
Wednesday: Walk 4 miles, rest day
Thursday: Walk 4 miles, Strength + Core
Friday: Walk 4 miles, 30 min Bike Hills & Sprints, 30 min Pilates
Saturday: Walk 4 miles, Trail Run 4 miles
Already Feeling that MAYhem Vibe
We were blessed with a string of beautiful spring days before gloom descended, along with rain and then the “F” word: Frost. As much as I wanted to get the garden opened up, I’m glad I didn’t because it’s just too soon.
We celebrated Ozzy’s 7th birthday with long walks, pup cups and plenty of new toys. Seriously where have 7 years gone?
It was also Senior Prom weekend. Everything came together beautifully, despite the chilly weather.
The kids were gorgeous and I am exhausted. This high school thing is coming to a close so quickly.

I’m glad I got to enjoy the warm weather — and that you heeded the frost warnings!
Gosh, it’s hard to believe Thing 2’s senior year is coming to an end. I hope you are able to savor the moments in all the chaos.
Deborah Brooks says
Time sure flies doesn’t it!? Oh the senior prom days seem like ages ago. End of an era for sure. Looks like you are getting back to your regular schedule of workouts too. Have a great week
Jenny says
Mayhem hasn’t started here yet, but that’s because I don’t have a graduating senior. And, prom!!! omg the kids all look so beautiful. My son’s prom, along with everything else his senior year was canceled due to Covid (am I still bitter? Yes, I am.)
You’ve definitely got a lot coming up, with graduation etc! Good thing you’re feeling better health-wise. And nice job on the workouts this week. I hope you get your garden going soon!
Debbie says
Nice job on your workouts!
With older sons I forget about the chaos of spring and end-of-year activities. It’s especially busy when there’s a senior!

I think I’ve been riding the MAYhem vibe the past several months, especially in recent weeks. I’m actually hopeful May itself will finally show me some mellowness. Beautiful prom pics!! It’s crazy how busy that final year of HS is…
Catrina says
Those are beautiful prom photos!
But my favourite one is the one from your trail run: you are flying!
Hopefully MAYhem won’t be too bad! You’ve had enough stress to deal with over the past few months.
Melissa says
Wow to prom! Those are great photos. I am not ready for MAYhem here – in additiion to all the craziness of school, spring/summer sports colliding, end-of-year activities, etc. I also have a work trip at the end of the month, my daughter’s birthday and my son’s first Communion. Oh yeah, and MY race weekend (half/5k challenge). Wake me up in June, please!
Wendy says
Ok, I saw your photos on FB, so when I first glanced at these, I was like what is wrong with all these kids? Then I realized you blacked out their faces. LOL. J looked beautiful! I just loved her dress. I hope she had fun at prom. Yes, mama buckle up!
Happy Birthday to Ozzy! I guess I didn’t realize he was only a year younger than Cocoa!
Susanne says
End of April already?! That’s incredible. Spring has just started here!
That’s a good week of workouts and I’m glad you’ve had some good spring weather too. So sorry about the frost, ugh.
Those are some lovely photos from the prom!

Your daughter looked beautiful.
It is still freezing here…. come on spring!!
Michelle says
I’m definitely feeling the MAYhem vibe on the rise. All of the senior things/last of’s are piling up quickly! J’s prom photos were great – I hope she had a good time! Try to savor all of it – the clock moves too fast.

Beautiful prom pictures! April and May are the fastest months of the year I think. Enjoy it!
Jenn says
Prom was just so much! Your daughter looked stunning! <3 I really loved her dress.
We have two more years to go, so it's not so many emotions, but still.
