Spring is here and it is finally, officially time for spring break. Cue the happy dance! As you read this we’ve headed off to a warmer climate, where I hope to soak up some sunshine and much-needed Vitamin Sea. But first, here’s how the week in workouts went:
Sunday: Walk 4 miles, Trail Run/Walk 3 miles, Core, Sauna
Monday: Walk 4 miles, 15 mins warmup on the bike, Strength
Tuesday: Walk 4 miles, very early work day
Wednesday: Walk 4 miles, 30 mins bike
Thursday: Walk 4 miles, Trail Run/Walk 3 miles, Core
Friday: Walk 4 miles, Strength (and SNOW!)
Saturday: Walk 2 miles, Travel Day!
It’s Officially Time for Spring Break
Even though spring “officially” arrived, mom Nature was up to her usual high jinx, dishing up icy winds and frigid weather, complete with some of that “S” word. My short trail runs with walk intervals continue. On Sunday (St. Patty’s Day) the icy wind simply took my breath away. The knee discomfort I felt when I first started running again is gone, thank heavens!
Strength training continues to go well although there was a little “incident” I’ll share more about in my Runfession Friday post. You’ll be there, right?
In other news, I got a chance to test lululemon’s new Cityverse sneaker. It’s a ‘wear around town’ kind of shoe vs. one meant for running or the gym. I find it to be less supportive than the lulu Blissfeel, and a tad heavier too. The jury is out on this one. They’re made from recycled materials, so there’s that.

Happy spring break and yay for getting away from the snow and to a warmer climate! I’m happy to hear that your initial knee pain from resuming running has gone away. I’ve had that happen, too. It’s always such a relief when it doesn’t stick around!

Enjoy your spring break! I’d love to be somewhere warm right now, preferable with sand under my feet 😉 I’m glad to hear the knee is feeling good!!

Sounds like this was the perfect time to get out of Chicago! Glad to hear you’re running again and that the knee is okay. I think those sneaker are cute- I don’t know about running in them though. But I would wear them around town.
Have a great trip!!!

Yay for disappearing knee pain! I do like the look of those Cityverse sneakers.
My wild guess is that you’re off to the Caribbean. Wherever you are going to – enjoy it!!! You definitely deserve a break after all this hectic time.
