Just like that, Thanksgiving week is here! While I am not cooking this year, I’m super excited to have the gang all home with us. I’ve been MIA from the rundown lately because work is crazy up in here, and of course our anniversary getaway, but here I am now. Ha! Here’s how the past week went.
Sunday: Last day of our Anniversary Getaway
Monday: Walk 4 miles, otherwise rest
Tuesday: Walk 4 miles, Trail Run 5 miles
Wednesday: Walk 4 miles, Eccentric Strength + Sauna
Thursday: Walk 4 miles, Bike Tabata, Upper Body Strength + Core
Friday: Walk 4 miles Trail Run 4 miles + Sauna
Saturday: Walk 4 miles, Heavy Strength
When I last posted, I told you we were heading out to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. The Caveman surprised me with a getaway to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. We met at a corporate golf outing at Geneva National Resort and Club way back in the day. It was a real blast from the past to be back so many years later.
Our Anniversary Getaway
We decided to walk a segment of the 26-mile Geneva Lake Shore path each day. It was a lot of walking to make it around the entire perimeter, but the weather was perfect and the historic mansions along the lake are nothing short of magnificent.

Happy anniversary! What a fun getaway. I love the adventure of walking the entire perimeter of the lake (was it the whole lake? I don’t know how big Lake Geneva is!) Anyway the photos are gorgeous.
We are in full Thanksgiving mode here. My son is home and we’re already eating up a storm. A large grocery run is occurring today. And I’m gearing up for runfessions on Friday!

I love hiking that trail around Geneva Lake. I hiked some of it this summer and I’m going up there again before the year’s end. Hopefully I can cross country ski the few hundred yards near the lake where it’s flat.

what a wonderful trip! Our anniversary trip was band-themed to Alabama, and all our walking came from trekking with the band and the equipment to the stadium, to the trucks, and back again and again lol.
We aren’t cooking either – we have reservations! It’s going to be bizarre!

I just bought my turkey tonight (on the way home from picking up the grand-doggy for the week), so I’m doing some T-Day cooking myself. I don’t mind the work because so much of it can be done the day prior, ad dI love all the leftovers!
