Memorial Day is behind us, June is here, it’s unofficially summer and I am here for it! It’s time to sit down with Deborah, Coco and you for a little catchup sesh over a nice beverage. I’m going with Starbucks’ new Odyssey blend with a splash of half & half and some collagen of course.
Over coffee I’d tell you the gang’s all here. Our college graduate arrived for the Memorial Day weekend and will be with us until she moves into her new apartment on July 1. We have some exciting travels ahead of us and packing has commenced!
Over coffee I’d tell you I was gifted a fancy coffee maker for Mother’s Day and there’s been a learning curve. It’s the kind that grinds the beans fresh for each cup/pot you make and I’ve learned so much about optimal roasting dates, carafe temperatures, etc. While the coffee it makes is indeed excellent, there have been some mishaps, as evidenced in the pic above. Like I said…learning curve.
Over coffee I’d ask you if you’re training for anything. While I am not racing, I am doing tons of coaching and I’m in the thick of building many fall training plans. I’ll brag for a sec and tell you I had 27 coaching clients for spring races and all of them met or exceeded their goals, with zero injuries. A proud coach moment for sure.
And last, over coffee I’d tell you it looks like we won’t have any ducklings or goslings around here this year. According to a neighbor, the nest built next to his home was routed by raccoons and another was built too close to the water and got submerged awhile back when we got torrential rain. So sad. I did however come across this mama turtle just the other day, laying her eggs so at least maybe we’ll have turtles.
What would you tell me over coffee? Any summer travel plans?
I’m also linking up with Darlene, Michelle, Renee, Jenn and Zenaida, for Fit Five Friday. Join us!

I was just about to reach out to see if you wanted to meet up for lunch, but it looks like you have a busy month ahead! Enjoy your time with M! Where are you going?
I love my coffee grinder/brewer but yes, it is messy! It’s definitely worth it, tho. I love how good the fresh ground coffee tastes.
Congrats on the successes of all your clients. I have no doubt that you gave them just what they needed!
Coco says
Yay on having both girls home for a month at least!
Congrats on your successful coaching season! That’s really impressive.
I’ve gotten lazy about grinding whole coffee beans but I’ve got some I need to use up. I haven’t tried that new Starbucks blend.
Deborah Brooks says
I’ve thought about upgrading to a fancier coffee maker but not sure I have the patience to grind my own coffee. I settled on the Nespresso which also makes excellent coffee. I can’t wait to hear about your travels!
Darlene S Cardillo says
Wow… that’s a lot of clients. That’s because you are a great coach… wish I could afford you… LOL
I’m so lazy lately… I use a Keurig for my coffee.
No big travel plans… a few short stints in NYC and hopefully good weather on the weekend for boating.
Michelle says
Yay for having a full house! Enjoy your family time – where are you headed?
An upgraded coffee maker is on the list for my remodeled kitchen – for now the Keurig gets it done in a pinch during the week and it’s the french press on the weekends.
Congrats on all the coaching success!

Many clients means that you are a great coach!
No travel plans at the moment because we are busy with our 4 grandsons but …. something will happen for sure: maybe some days in the green Tuscany.
I love to have animals in my garden or under the roof.
Jenny says
Oh, that’s so nice- you’ll have both your kids home for the month! I can definitely relate.
You are obviously a great coach! That’s an impressive record- especially with no injuries. No wonder your comments on my blog are so wise!

Woohoo on the travel, and I love the summery mug. Coffee stories forever

Yikes on the coffee maker! And congrats on such a good showing with your coaching clients.
That is too sad about the birds. 🙁
I’ll have to live vicariously through you and your travels, we have no plans, and while I was thinking of a few things closer to home I don’t think they’re going to happen. 🙁
Kimberly Hatting says
Congrats to all your runners & their successes! That has to really feel good 🙂 That coffee mess looks pretty epic, LOL. It’s a good thing I’m not in that caliber of coffee-drinking…
Fairytales and Fitness says
Yay for having your girls home and congrats to your daughter on her new venture!
That’s awesome to hear about your clients. They have a really good coach!
Jenn says
For a minute, I thought you burned your counter!
We had a nest of duck or goose eggs in our front garden, but something got to them 🙁 While it makes me sad as an animal lover, the ducks are actually an invasive species, so maybe it’s for the best.
The boys have a big trip this summer, and then we have two smaller ones. I wish I was going on the big trip too, but such is life.
Renée says
Fun times with the girls! Are you heading towards my continent??
We have an espresso machine that I really love, but it is so messy. These are the things you don’t really know until you buy! I can imagine yours has a learning curve – sounds more complex than mine!
Well done on your coaching! I absolutely love working with a coach and have done so many times. You definitely have bragging rights!
Farrah says
Aww, yay for having both girls home!
Once you get over the learning curve, it’ll be great coffee every day! Hang in there!
Hope you have safe/fun travels!
Catrina says
Wow, 27 clients who met or exceeded their goals! That’s something to be very proud of!!
I’m so excited about your travelling plans.
I think we will just miss each other – we are travelling back to Switzerland on June 12.
Enjoy the Safari! It’s going to be so awesome!!

My coffee spills over onto the counter at least once a week! I guess I need to just make less?
Zenaida Arroyo says
That is excellent news about your clients! Oh, bummer on that coffee maker. I have a Keurig and love it. How fun that you will be traveling! Where are you going?
