Spring is here, along with MAYhem, and I’m doing my best to stay afloat and enjoy the nice weather and special events this time of year brings. Here’s how the week in workouts went:
Sunday: Walk 4 miles, Trail run 4 miles
Monday: Walk 4 miles, very early staff meeting
Tuesday: Walk 4 miles, Trail run 5 miles
Wednesday: Walk 4 miles, Full Body Strength + Core
Thursday: Walk 4 miles, otherwise rest
Friday: Walk 4 miles Trail Run 4 miles
Saturday: Walk 4 miles, Heavy Strength
Running Down May
Workouts were on autopilot this week, but they got done. The trails are looking and feeling more like summer and it’s time to start thinking about bug repellant. Lululemon rolled out a brand new trail shoe and I can’t wait to get them out for a test run.
This is last year’s deck.
I opened up our outdoor spaces for the season and got all of the planting here and at my mom’s house DONE! The key is to get to the garden center as early as humanly possible on a weekday morning or after 8pm. I found both of these time slots to have minimal traffic and zero waiting in line.
Thing 2 had her final concert of the school year. It was actually an orchestra concert and they choose just a handful or so from the Honor Band to build it out beyond strings. In a word, they were amazing. I’m still getting my head around the fact that next year will be her final year of band…and of high school. Sigh. I already got an email telling me it’s time to schedule her senior portrait. Whaaat?

Runfession Friday Linkup
It’s that time already. Can you believe it? May is winding down way too quickly and it’s time to open up the runfessional. Join me right there this Friday.
I’ll leave you with this golden hour pic. The Canadian wild fires are awful but they sure do lend a beautiful haze to the sky.
How was your week? Are you enjoying beautiful weather? Any goals or bucket list items for summer? Plans for Memorial Day weekend?
I’m linking up with Kim and Deborah for the Weekly Run Down. Join us!

I haven’t kept up on the wildfires, but saw some posts from Minneapolis friends about the air quality there…
Runfessions time already! I will try to think if I have anything to share!
Looks like a solid week Marcia!

I am glad that you all finally have fantastic weather to enjoy. Runfessions already?! I need to get on that

Your trails (and that sunrise photo) look so amazing!
I like to get to the grocery store early. Served me well this week because TJs is paving their tiny parking lot — thankfully without closing the store, but I can only imagine the cluster it must be later in the day!

We just got our outdoor space set up too – now I need to get to all the planting!
Your trails look so inviting – enjoy!

We had some “last” concerts this week as well- the last concerts of middle school! We have four more years of concerts coming up in high school though. Is your daughter planning to do any music in college? Or is it too early to say?
I love your golden hour photo! And I love the photo of your deck. We’re heading into the time of year where we want to be outside as little as possible, sigh.

I saw that big orange sun on my way home from work last week-the wildfires make it interesting! We haven’t done any planting yet. I did move some of the succulents outside. I’ll start the planting either late this week or next. I hope we’re done with the cold!

Yes, it does feel (mostly) like summer now, and I’m totally on board with that! I was just thinking about bug repellent yesterday at my relay. We’re on paved trails and surrounded by a lot of trees for much of the event, but the bugs didn’t seem to be an issue (though I know it won’t be long before they’re back in full force).

I think having workouts on autopilot is a very good thing! In fact, I think that’s a goal we should aspire to.
I didn’t even know that Lululemon made running shoes, ahem. So cool that you get to try them, I’m curious to know what you think of them.

I am so far behind with my gardening… we need a new deck but never got it done…
Autopilot is a good thing… you are getting them done… love your trail and sunrise pix.

Great week!
I am actually excited about the summer. The boys are going to Philmont so I am going to treat myself to some fun things around town. Then we are going to pet capybaras and then we are going to DC!

isn’t is crazy how this time of year is nuts for everyone! I notice my neighbours also out doing their gardening, cleaning the patios, cleaning their front walkway (and simultaneously wrecking ours); the garden centers are busy, the home centers are busy, kids are graduating, mother;s day, plus the weather is finally behaving like we WANT it to… we can only do so much!
So great job on getting stuff done even if a bit on autopilot!

Beautiful golden hour photo!
At last, after many rainy day, here the weather is perfect for the workouts and ….. the races!
Your trails are perfect for training.

I had no idea that Lululemon made sneakers – that’s really interesting.
It seems like May is one of the busiest months of the year for so many – hang in there!

I remember you posting a picture of one of your deck flower pot arrangements last summer or the summer before and I really liked the combo of flowers you chose. Of course, I didn’t make any notes and couldn’t remember it this year when picking out my flowers.
Our weather has been absolutely gorgeous this week! We’re seeing the haze from the Canadian wildfires as well.
We’re hoping to visit the Dakotas this summer!
