Here we are in April already! Now that it’s over, it feels like the first quarter of the year flew and we are hurtling toward the end of the school year. Did you catch the pink moon yesterday? It was so vivid in the wee hours of the morning as my coffee brewed, it commanded my attention. Let’s sit down with Deborah and Coco for a little catch-up sesh.
Let’s Catch Up Under the Pink Moon
Over coffee I’d ask you how you’re feeling about Instagram lately. I’d tell you I’m really tired of it. The algorithm is constantly changing, I barely see the posts of people I follow anymore and I DO see posts of people I don’t follow, too much sponsored stuff, etc. I’m spending less and less time making Reels and taking pics for posts. My attention is best focused elsewhere.
Over coffee I’d ask you if you set any goals for April. I’m continuing with the no-added sugar thing I did in March, although I did have a piece of pie at Passover Seder with the in-laws. I runfess it wasn’t that good but it felt easier to just eat it rather than refuse it and explain what I’m up to.
Over coffee I’d ask you how the weather’s been by you. I’d tell you I’m really looking forward to when it’s warm enough to enjoy our outdoor space. I’m already thinking about the plants I want, when to put out the wind chimes, bird bath etc. I’m thinking I’ll do an herb garden for the kitchen this year
Happy Easter and Passover to all who celebrate! What would you tell me over coffee?
I’m also linking up with Darlene, Michelle, Renee, Jenn and Zenaida, for Fit Five Friday.

I’m definitely frustrated with IG–they aren’t pushing out Reels anymore and I have no clue what they want us to do. I’m just doing what I always do and that is to have fun with it. It’s really the only platform I care to use.
That moon was spectacular and I saw it in the morning as well! It’s really nice to have clear skies, isn’t it?

Passover desserts are rarely good. Although flourless chocolate cake does qualify . . .
I didn’t see the moon yesterday, but I sure was in awe of it peeking out between our pines this morning. I decided to just take that photo in my mind.
I almost never look at IG — like, for years. Once in a while to get in touch with someone when that’s the only way I can. I can’t do all the things.
Kimberly Hatting says
I agree, time seems to be flying! I saw the moon yesterday morning, and then did our monthly full moon run lady night. Oh, it was a beautiful shade of pink as it rose above the horizon, which wasn’t until the fifth mile, LOL (which seemed late?).
Michelle says
I missed that moon – so pretty! The time is flying by – too fast for my liking. I have a feeling that what’s left of the Spring semester will go by in a blink. I share your frustration about IG! I can’t tell what the algorithm is doing anymore. I find I’m not posting as much as I used to cause I just don’t have the time and I do miss seeing the posts of some of the people I follow.
Coco says
Honestly I only can spend a few minutes on IG checking the latest posts from my favorite Peloton instructors. Every other post in my feed is a sponsored video with sound.
No goals for April except to get through it. 🙂
Deborah Brooks says
I notice that when I eat less sugar, I crave it way less. Then, when I “treat” myself to something it is not as good as I remember. I guess that’s good. I am also continuing to limit it as much as I can. It’s not easy but hope it’s worth it.
Every time I thing I have IG figured out, nope! 🙂
Jenny says
It’s funny how concerned people are if you say you’re not eating sugar- almost like you’re going to be missing out on crucial nutrients. I can see how it was just easier to eat that piece of pie.
I would describe our weather as “hot and it’s only going to get hotter.” in other words, typical for Florida in April. That’s okay- I have my ice hat. Enjoy your spring!
Jenn says
IG is still my favorite platform but I’m happy just making feed posts of pretty-ish pics and looking at travel, food, and animal pics. I’m a simple creature.
Darlene S Cardillo says
I actually prefer IG to FB because it’s just pix and less to read.
I admit I do love my sugar… hopefully I eat enough veggies and fruit to compensate.
Crazy weather here… 20 in the am… 60 pm… I never dress right it seems

I saw the moon on Thursday but it wasn’t pink! Perhaps that phenomenon could only be seen in North America.
In any case, we sat outdoors under the sky in a desert in Namibia in the middle of nowhere. The starlight sky was AMAZING.
The not-so-full moon was so bright it nearly blinded us. But our photos are not as good as yours!!

Instagram is killing me. I don’t do reels (I just don’t have time, though I do occasionally make a tiktok video) so my photos now get maybe 20-30 likes IF I’m lucky. I’m still posting every day as well and using hashtags. Everything is so commercialised now and it makes me sad because I kind of use it for micro-blogging now.
goals for April, more workouts! I want to do more than just walking and 1 or 2 runs a week. I’m trying to figure out how to get that whole thing back and deal with the overwhelming-ness of my new job. Other than that just continue my walk streak.
I would have eaten the slice of pie too. sometimes it’s just easier than to not have to explain.
I am shocked at how fast the first quarter of the year flew by!!
Zenaida Arroyo says
Do tell more about this no added sugar thing you did. I want to cut down as well but it is hard. Instagram used to be fun. Not it isn’t so much. I check it once in a while and post once in a while too.

Weather has been nuts. Caroming between 70 and 40 with no rhyme or reason. It’s currently 81
I love IG, but don’t use it as much as twitter
Now I want pie
