March rode out of here on tornado-strength winds and made way for April. I’m hopeful we’ll have weather that’s a little (or a lot) more spring-like, but one can’t be sure. Anywho, April is a great time for some April Fool’s jokes. Before I get to those, here’s how the workouts went:
Monday: Walk 4 miles, Trail Run 4 miles
Tuesday: Walk 4 miles, Upper Body Strength + Core
Wednesday: Walk 4 miles, Bike Bootcamp
Thursday: Walk 4 miles, otherwise rest
Friday: Walk 4 miles, Bike Tabata + Core + Sauna
Saturday: Walk 4 miles, Tempo run on the mill + Core + Sauna
Sunday: Walk 4 miles, Heavy Strength
Other than our twice daily outdoor walks, I only managed one run on the trails this week, because our weather was mostly foul, as per usual. No surprise there. I did manage to surpass the 5k mark for the year on Peloton so go me.
The planets did align however, for Wendy and I to get together for lunch. It was so nice to catch up and we definitely need to do this more often!
Sugar-Free March
Sugar-free March is a wrap and I decided to keep the no-added sugar train chugging another month….with some caveats. I’m going to eat whatever I want on Easter Sunday. AND since our local frozen custard place is now open for the season, rest assured I’ll be paying them a visit too. I’m not quite sure yet what the ground rules will be exactly, but I will say I’ll be mostly sugar free in April. You heard it here first.
My Favorite April Fool’s Jokes
I have to say my inbox had about a handful of hilarious April Fool’s emails. Gotta love a company with a sense of humor! Here are a couple of my favorites:
The Handul Bra company sent this fun one. It made me stop and think a minute. Haha!
So did this email from my friends at Zum. I was imagining what the factory might smell like before I realized I’d been had.

I saw a couple funny April Fools jokes by running companies as well! I’m not a fan of practical jokes but I always get a kick out of those fake ads.
I am SO glad we finally got to lunch. And yes, let’s get another date on the calendar!

Lol on the handful ad.
Work was a mess this past week but at least my evenings were in NYC.
Our weather yesterday was a joke 70 degrees. This morning 20s with the windchill.

How sad to see those daffodils trapped in ice! But yes, they are strong plants as they are some of the earliest plants to come up. I hope you get warmer weather soon. Here we had 13-14C and sun on Friday and this morning it was 4C. Eww.
I’m usually not so amused by April fool’s jokes but some fake ads can be fun.

T’he less added sugar has served me well these past few months. I am going to continue it as well at about a 90/10. Once I have some, I want more!

Ha, I like those ads. I let April Fools Day pass by completely without any jokes… I’m so boring.
Fun that you got to meet up with Wendy! You had a great week of workouts in spite of the weather. And your mood-boosting workout looks great- I’ll try it today. I always think I want a day off of exercise, but sometimes I end up feeling really blah. Mood boosting and mobility sounds perfect.

LOL, I love a company with a good sense of humor! Our gravel bike group leader sent out a message on FB saying that we’re adding a power walking division. He got some people with that one!
How fun to meet up with Wendy. It was the week of blogger meet-ups!

I’m so impressed with your no / low sugar! i’m a sugar fiend and i love to bake, so i can’t imagine life without sugar for me. but I suppose that’s the point? enjoy some fresh custard – yum!
and i love the bra liner/leggings trick – that’s too clever!

I love that photo of you and Wendy! So great that you were both able to meet up for lunch.
The April Fools Day joke by Handful bra was pretty funny lol. I saw a few Peloton jokes yesterday as well.

That handful ad is a good one! The national park service had a fun one about a red while and blue cherry tree George Washington grafted.
Yay on your meet up with Wendy!

Sigh…April & January-like weather is no bueno. Personally, I’d really like the wind to take a chill pill. Great job on your no-sugar success!!

My husband & I talked about how we no longer see April Fool’s joke (although I did see the one you mentioned after the fact). Also saw a different one from a different company the day after.
I could’ve gotten that run in this afternoon when the winds calmed down, but I’m so over all the cold weather! We still got our walk on with Bandit though.

That Handful ad is pretty funny. So great that you got to catch up with Wendy. Bravo on your sugar-free March!

I nearly fell for an April Fool’s one last week: Gerda Steyn, one of the best South African marathon runners, announced that she would run from Johannesburg to Cape Town (900 miles) and end the run with the Two Oceans Ultra.
She was so serious when announcing it, too! 🙂
I bet that lunch hour wasn’t enough to chat with Wendy!! You two should meet more often!

I don’t know if I’m ready for April. It’s coming one way or the other so I guess we just have to have to go along for the ride.
So glad to see you and Wendy got some time together!

Your video made me realize I need to take time to do my PT exercises. Thanks for the motivation!

I had an email from the soap company I order from offering me a special price on French Onion Soap, which I found amusing! Lovely to have you lunch meetup.
