Not sure how we got here so quickly, but it’s just about time to bid April goodbye and greet May with open arms. Before we get to that though, it’s time for a little visit to the runfessional. Let’s get started shall we?
Haters Gonna Hate
I’ve been at this no-added sugar thing for about 60 days now and I runfess it feels like “I’ve arrived” because the haters are starting to surface. The food police will point out the smallest part of an orange wedge and cry “SUGAR” and some will “mansplain” that a carnivore diet or this or that is so much better. I don’t glorify any of it with any response at all, but I do wonder what kind of person will take time out of their day to make comments on a random YouTube short? Apparently that thing they say about being brave when you’re behind a screen is true.
I did an endurance run with Matt Wilpers recently and when he started talking about how the Mizuno Wave Creation used to be his jam, I runfess it stirred up all kinds of memories and made me more of a MW fan girl than I already was. The Wave Creation was my go-to marathon shoe for most of my marathon-running life, before they changed it and I had to move to Asics. Such fond memories! Sigh The pic above was taken in the wee hours before the Columbus Marathon back in 2009. That was BQ #3 in my trusty Wave Creations. Back then white shoes were all the rage. The only colors you could get were in the stripes. I’m not entirely sure what’s up with that headband though.
Since I didn’t do much running last week (due to illness) I runfess I did more than my share of spring decluttering. I came upon an old purse and in it I found a wallet containing $150 and a Nordstrom gift card, which I promptly used, before I forgot about it a second time. Decluttering has it’s rewards. I also found this unopened DVD. Does anyone even have a DVD player anymore? I’m kind of wondering what sorts of exercises one must do to get an “original” butt.
Ok your turn: What have you to runfess? Any spring cleaning finds? What’s the most amount of money you ever found?
I’m also linking up with Darlene, Michelle, Renee, Jenn and Zenaida, for Fit Five Friday. Join us!

I’ve been doing some spring cleaning, but have not yet gone on a binge with it. I did find a stack of birthday cards (a few years ago), that had gotten buried under some other clutter…and uncovered a $20 and a check from my aunt (oops!).

I don’t get the haters but I do get ‘chronic illness warriors’ who claim to help me cure RA with food. It’s truly amazing how everyone is an expert when it comes to nutrition! After being polite, I just tell them ‘you do you’ and they crawl back into their hole. I don’t understand these people at all.
I need to spring clean but it sure hasn’t felt very spring-like, has it? I’d love to find $150, but the most I ever find is $20.

I do still have a DVD player. 2, on fact. They almost never get used anymore though.
The joys of small channels. I don’t get too many comments & most are quite nice. Except for the people trying to promote their sires with scantily clad big busted (or butt) women. I mean, seriously?

OK that DVD title made me chuckle 🙂 I’m doing some spring decluttering too – I hope I’m as lucky as you. A little retail therapy would be nice!
I really don’t get the haters – why are folks so quick to look for fault in what’s working for someone else?

I like the big terrycloth wrist band on that DVD cover, but I #runfess I wear them myself for easy brow wiping. 😉
I guess people want to show off or try to one-up others. Glad you are letting it roll off.

I also did lots of decluttering last week. It is amazing how much stuff I can accumulate and still feel like I need more clothes! Nice job with continuing your sugar detox it is not easy

I think I have an unused DVD player.
Just found $10 and DD gift card.
I’ve decluttered but still so much more needs to be done. I’ve declared a moratorium on running clothes. Not shoes though. Lol.

Oh, darn! I wish you had a DVD player and could tell us what kind of exercises are on that! Sounds interesting.
Oh yes… it’s funny how people love to criticize and challenge other people’s diets! Like Wendy said, everyone is an expert.
You’re definitely inspiring me to do spring cleaning… but I doubt I’ll find anything as exciting as you did.

150USD! Wow, that’s a great decluttering-reward! How much was on the Nordstrom gift card?
That DVD find is gold. I wonder what booty exercises are needed to burn 500 calories… that must be a long workout with a lot of cardio thrown in, ha!

I found 80 euros and a gift card in a purse a while ago! That’s awesome. I believe in “found money” but Neal doesn’t. 😉
I thought that the DVD was an actual butt lifter underwear or something – LOL. We have a DVD player! You can come here and try it. hahaha

I just packed up all the old DVDs and BluRays. I think we have a player somewhere, but who knows?
I have learned that people get downright combative over food choices. Who has the time?
