Whether we like it or not, I’m embracing October because well, it’s a beautiful month, and we all know how quickly the remainder of 2022 will fly. Weather-wise it was a gorgeous fall week here. Here’s how the workouts went.
Monday: Walk 4 miles early work
Tuesday: Walk 4 miles, trail run 4 miles
Wednesday: Walk 4miles, 1 hour Pickleball
Thursday: Walk 4 miles, early work
Friday: Walk 4 miles, strength + Core
Saturday: Walk 4 miles, trail run 5 miles
Sunday: Walk 4 miles heavy strength
Embracing October
Somehow I neglected to take a single running pic this week so here’s one from one of our morning walks. It’s been cool, crisp perfection. I dare not complain about the early onset chill as I know there is far worse to come.
Running has been going really well, since I managed to lose 5 pounds in September. That is no easy task for this 5’2″ post-menopause girl, so I’m going to own it. Cooler weather + less weight = fantastic running. Avoiding added sugars does wonders, just saying.
On the home front, it was another week of Field Hockey, (the games are getting very chilly to spectate) and it was also Homecoming Week AND the Honor Band had their first concert of the school year. Pepper in some parenting drama, and yeah I was a busy mama.
While I had no intention of sleeping in on Saturday morning, that’s exactly what happened and I logged NINE HOURS of sleep, which pretty much never happens. I obviously needed it. Yikes!

Strength, Mobility, Stability. This is the kind of workout nobody really WANTS to do but we all SHOULD do. Whether you’re into a sport, and/or you find yourself sitting for extended periods. Muscles get weak and joints lose their range of motion. This quick sequence is the antidote to all of that. Try it. Your body will thank you!
I’ll leave you with this pic. Fall colors are just getting started here.
How was your week? Are you all in for fall? Enjoying cooler weather?
I’m linking up with Kim and Deborah for the Weekly Run Down. Join us!

Love those fall colors! There’s a tree on my street with one branch of red leaves. I guess it’s ahead of the others.
I need to try that workout. My body is so creaky from all my computer work.

Yes, I bet you had some great runs this week! I definitely can’t call our weather “cool, crisp perfection” (no, not quite) but I did have some more pleasant runs.
I”ll bet you’re a busy mama! I feel like we have enough to cope with with just the band stuff. Although I wish my daughter played a sport, I’m kind of glad I don’t have to work that into the schedule.
I love the photo of the fall trees! This is the time of year I’ll just appreciate it vicariously through my blogger friends.

It got downright chilly here, until Friday. I know it’s gonna get much colder, but Momma N didn’t cushion the blow with any kind of transition, LOL. We have only a tiny hint of color change thus far. I expect that will be changing soon.

It’s great to hear that your runs are going so well. I had one of those runs on Wednesday and it felt amazing!
Your trees are getting some good color! We’re in Maine for a little over a week of cycling and hiking and the leaves are much further along up here.

Beautiful fall colors. Fall is here!

I saw more color up in Wisco today than here–kind of funny since I was only about an hour north! It looks to be a very pretty fall!
Don’t even talk to me about my weight…I’m just glad I can button my pants at this point.

Avoiding sugar does sure help me as well. The cooler temps do too! Glad you had a good week

Jealous of your sleep.
Congrats on your weight loss.
After this weekend there will be weight gain but so it’s fun. I needed to get away.
More fall colors in Maine.

Congrats on your weight loss, Marcia! It’s incredible what a difference every ounce makes to running.
Do you think that’s thanks to Lumen?
I’m not surprised you slept for 9 hours! With your insane early mornings, you must have needed it!

Wow, congrats on the 5 lbs! That’s fantastic. I totally agree with you — Fall/Winter will come whether we want them to or not, and I love the cold mornings! Even if it makes me want to just sit at home, LOL, and I always get a later start than I want to.
I don’t use an alarm, so I sleep to when I sleep. Usually that’s very early, but sometimes I get a bit more & I always figure I need that!

I have been really enjoying the Fall weather and getting to wear my sweatshirts early in the morning 🙂
Awesome job on losing 5 lbs – I need to know your secrets! I am hoping to also drop a few pounds before the holidays.
Sounds like your body needed the extra rest on Saturday – glad you were able to sleep in!

Ugh to parenting drama. It’s the worst.
HoCo is at the end of the month for us, and I’m so giddy. It sounds so much more fun than eons ago when I was in high school.
A has his first band competition coming up this weekend and then we go all in for the next month and a half. I’m tired thinking about it.
I feel like I gained a ton of weight overnight. I didn’t, but my body doesn’t feel great, so I’m working on that.
