Well hello June! I’m so happy to see you! Now that you’re here, my thoughts go to my summer bucket list. What will I put on it this year? I’m also happy to sit down with Deborah, Coco and YOU at our monthly coffee date. I’ll go with my usual Starbucks Spring Blend with collagen and half & half.
Over coffee I’d tell you I finally FINALLY got our deck all set up for summer. The weather had been so up and down, my planting had to grind to a halt for a bit. I considered reserving a plot in the community garden, but then reality set in and I passed on it. There’s no way I have time to do all that weeding.
Over coffee I’d tell you we enjoyed our first sunset around the fire pit. It was just as amazing as I’d imagined it would be. I’d been asking…begging for a fire pit for as long as I can remember, but because we have a deck, it is not the safest idea. This Solo Stove Bonfire is safe for use on wooden decks.
Over coffee I’d ask you what the status of Covid is where you live. It seems to be popping up all over the place here. I know someone (vaxxed and double boosted) who got it and was REINFECTED just a few weeks later. These are crazy times.
Over coffee I’d ask you if you made a Summer Bucket list. Other than heading to Oregon next week, I haven’t made any other plans. I suppose I should, because we all know how quickly summer slips away.
What would you tell me over coffee? Any fun summer plans? Travel or otherwise?
Wendy says
I have a lot on my summer agenda–lots of travel. We’ll see if it all happens. I haven’t booked my flights yet because they are $$. I finally got my flowers planted yesterday. This weather has been all over the place!

We have gone back and forth about the fire pit. Not sure if I would use it often enough. Looks great though might have to re visit that idea! Enjoy
Coco says
Mosquitoes keep me from enjoying our back yard in summer, although I do love having dinner outside and relaxing on the patio until they discover me.
We don’t have any big summer plans, but we do plan to visit our daughter in CO sometime.

I love that fire pit!
Our summer will be quite busy. We will have a wedding in Italy and a hike in Austria. And of course, we will need to visit Kai’s mum in Germany. We will combine that with the Berlin Marathon.
I’m looking forward to that!

I don’t have a summer list yet, but you’re right- I should think about what I want to do before summer slips away.
We have a lot of Covid here, although I admit I don’t spend much time worrying about it. When I start to see a lot of people in masks again it’s a sign that cases are up. I know a lot of people who have had it recently, but none fo them were seriously ill.
Love that fire pit!!!

No big summer plans here but i may try to do a few small projects around the house.
Covid numbers are going back up here too. I still wear a mask whenever I go indoors (OTF, supermarket, etc) and I work form home so I feel like I am doing everything I can to avoid it. I’ve been lucky so far and hope that luck continues, lol.

No big summer plans on my roster, other than do as much cycling as I can squeeze in. I’ll do a maintenance mode thing with running since I don’t have any races longer than 13.1 (currently) on the calendar. I love our fire pit!

We have a deck, too! I considered making smores in the grill last week, LOL! Cool bonfire.
Although things seem to be coming down, I know a LOT of people lately who have had it, but most have had mild symptoms. My mom keeps saying how lucky we are (not knowing my sister has already had it, and my SIL, and a bunch of friends — and a bunch of HER friends that she does know about).
Garden? What’s that?
Michelle says
We have a fire pit on the patio which I love using. I didn’t realize you can use the Solo on a deck – that’s great!
I feel like summer kinda snuck up on me. Usually, by now, I’ve got my bucket list figured out – I’d better get crackin’!

COVID is like the norm now. I feel like the circle is tightening AGAIN, but I don’t know what to do about it. But I’m in one of those states where no one cares, so I just do my thing and hope for the best
Love your new deck setup! Enjoy!

I feel like we’ve reached the point with covid where it’s no longer if you’ll get it but when you’ll get it. I tested positive twice a couple of weeks ago even though I had zero symptoms. Long story short my daughter had the flu and I was fine (false positives). Good thing I had plenty of tests at home and could get PCR tests to confirm.
I’m going to Costa Rica this summer. I was there almost 20 years ago and am looking forward to going back!

That’s an awesome fire pit– great alternative for a wooden deck. :]
Covid has definitely surged over here as well — really hoping cases will come back down again soon. It’s been super hectic at work again lately!
Have fun in Oregon!

Isn’t the weather just ridiculous? As long as I don’t have to turn on the heat then I guess it is OK. It looks like we have hot days coming our way next week? That fire pit looks comforting on a cool evening. Making s’mores there?
Cari says
Was just thinking the same about summer plans. I’m going to blink and it will be over.
Love the fire pit
COVID. Ugh. Stil hoping to dodge the bullet
