I’ve been paddling hard to keep all the proverbial balls in the air, and as a result took a bit of a blogbattical last week. I’m back though….kind of…and here’s how the week in workouts went down.
Monday: Walk 4 miles, Trail Run 4 miles
Tuesday: Walk 4 miles, Walk 4 miles, Bike Bootcamp, Upper Body Strength
Wednesday: Walk 4 miles, Trail Run 4 miles, Lower Body Strength + Core
Thursday: Oregon
Friday: Oregon
Saturday: Oregon
Sunday: Oregon
Weather in Chicagoland has been up and down as per usual. The cool temps are perfect for hitting the trails though. They’re so lush and green from all the rain.
It was a single parenting week. The Caveman returned just in time for the college girl and I to head out to Beaverton, where she’ll work as an intern on Nike’s Global Finance team, until late August when she heads back to school for senior (gulp) year. As you read this, I’ll be on that journey. Check my Instagram for the play-by-play!
Before that though, Thing 2 had her spring flute recital. She was the final performer of the night. I am biased of course, but dang.

Low-Impact Strength Workout. When the temperature rises, I like to switch my focus away from running and concentrate on strength. Building lean muscle mass is always a good idea, especially as we age. Join me and let’s get strong for summer!
How was your week? Any fun plans? Is school out?
I’m linking up with Kim and Deborah for the Weekly Run Down. Join us!

You’re doing a great job keeping all those balls in the air. Enjoy OR! I’m sure in some ways it’s bittersweet, since she’ll be starting senior year before you know it, but you gotta enjoy the time you have!
Deborah Brooks says
Looks like you both are having a blast in Oregon. Can’t wait to hear more about visiting Nike.

It looks like you are having a blast in Beaverton. It is so cool that your daughter has the opportunity — and I am sure they are lucky to have her.
I’m glad you got to enjoy Thing 2’s performance. She’ll be a HS senior, right?

Ooh! I’m sure Oregon must be amazing. I can’t wait to hear all about it. You got in some good runs before you left. I sure hope you’re staying there for a while because I hear the Chicago weather is about to get HOT.
Congrats to Thing 2! They usually put the best performance last : )

Gulp…senior year? Wow, that went fast! Our oldest has her 10-year class reunion this summer…how’s that for a rude awakening? Of course, she has ZERO interest in attending. Your trip sounds exciting, as does your daughter’s internship!

Sometimes, a bloggabatical is just what you need!
Congratulations to Thing 2! So incredible! Have fun on your adventures.
School is out and summer is underway!

Yes these hot and humid days are better spent indoors!
