It was a tough week in light of the devastating incident in Texas. I found myself weeping during my morning meditation. There is nothing worse than losing a child. Nothing. I will leave it there. Here’s how the week in workouts went:
Monday: Walk 4 miles, Trail Run 3 miles
Tuesday: Walk 4 miles, otherwise rest
Wednesday: Walk 2 miles, Strength Training, Core
Thursday: Walk 4 miles, Trail Run 4 miles, Balance/Mobility
Friday: Walk 4 miles, Bike Bootcamp, Strength Circuit
Saturday: Walk 3 miles, otherwise rest, well work
Sunday: Walk 4 miles, Trail Run of some kind
My FIL’s scholarship ceremony was canceled because things are just too risky with Covid right now, so I found myself with some much needed breathing room in the schedule, thank heavens. Two of my work clients have asked for more hours/responsibilities and I’ve been paddling hard.
Thing 1 turns 21 while she’s in Beaverton so the celebrations here at home have already started. My food intake veered off the tracks and yet, according to my Lumen Metabolism tracker, I’m doing ok. I resisted for a long time, but dialing in macros and cycling carbs works for me. Use code MARCIA to save $50 on Lumen.

Yeah, this week was rough. I’m glad you had something positive to focus on. Thing 1 is so lovely, it seems unfair to call her that. 😉

It was a really rough week and I also cried a lot. I am so excited for your daughter she is going to have the best time this summer. Happy birthday to her! My baby just turned 22 how did that happen?! PS my lumen will not know who I am when I get back after these 2 weeks

Not to focus on the negative, but yes… I can’t even imagine how these parents are going to go on with their lives. And it could happen to any of us, at any time. Such a terrible tragedy.
Glad your daughter is home and celebrating! She looks so much like you. I hope your life calms down a little bit now that school’s out. ‘
I’ll check out your video! I’m always up for some balance work.

It was a tough week, in many ways. Hugs to you<3 Weekend plans? We decided, earlier this morning, to road-trip to Omaha to cheer on our Iowa Hawks at the Big 10 baseball tournament…

Happy early birthday to Thing 1!
Ooh I need to do this. Balance is always a challenge for me.
Thanks for the Zooma reminder. Will try to post

I’m still reeling a bit from all the bad news–I wish these things didn’t affect me so much. A run at Devil’s Lake this morning was just what I needed to recenter me. I too have gone off the rails a bit with my diet. I don’t know what a macro is but I do need to dial in my carbs, that is for sure.
Happy Birthday to M!

Awesome photo of Thing 1! Even without a better stride, balance is so important! Sometimes I have it, sometimes I don’t. Although I did catch myself before I I face planted while running today — I was considering going even longer because it was so beautiful & said nope!
We will be at my mom’s tomorrow. I’ll probably have to go back later in the week. Welcome home!

Thing 1 is so pretty! I agree with Jenny, she looks very much like you.
I’m glad you got a bit of a breather with that cancellation. It’s always nice when you have an unexpected opening in the diary!

Such a hard week…many tears here too.
Happy birthday to your daughter! I’m sure you’re enjoying having her home. Are planning to visit while she’s in Beavertown?

Raced tioday — so hot and humid… hope to take our boat out tomorrow for the first time this season.

Happy Birthday to your daughter!
I am happy that in a week filled with so much sadness, you have some happy things to focus on.

Such a tough week for sure. Happy birthday to your daughter! My daughter’s birthday is tomorrow. She will be 19. Wow, those years went fast!

Happy birthday to your daughter!
This was a hard week and I’m struggling. I don’t know when things will look brighter again.
