This week felt like a sprint toward the weekend, as I looked very much forward to a mother-daughter sorority event with Thing 1 in Atlanta. There was work and workouts to do, stuff to pack, Oreo bars to bake (per her request, who am I to refuse?). Here’s how the week in workouts went:
Monday: Walk 4 miles, otherwise rest
Tuesday: Walk 5 miles, Treadmill 4 miles Upper Body Strength
Wednesday: Walk 4 miles, Bike Bootcamp, Strength, Core
Thursday: Walk 4 miles, Trail Run 4 miles, Mobility
Friday: Walk 1 mile + Travel Day
Saturday: TBD
Sunday: TBD
It was fun to have the Boston Marathon back on Patriot’s Day. The app worked great for athlete tracking and I am so SO proud of how all six of the athletes I coach did. Hard work and determination pay off. Boston is a very tough course and all the sights and sounds of the TV coverage brought back so many memories for me.
The weather is mostly still not anything special here. It snowed on and off all day on Monday and we’re still a good 15 to 20 degrees colder than “normal” here. I need to remind myself how we don’t really have spring here. It’s pretty much winter for 9 months then summer.

I hope you’re having a great time with your daughter!
I was checking the Chicago weather for my biz trip this week. Still in the 30s at night???

Congratulations on your six athletes, Marcia! I saw that it was perfect running weather for them. I used the app as well to track athletes, it worked extremely well.
I am now so hooked on Boston that I’m planning on running it in 2023 or, if the timing doesn’t work out, in 2024.
Enjoy Atlanta!

Oooh! I hope you’re having fun in Atlanta (how come my son isn’t inviting me to any mother/son events? Hmmm!). Yep, I grew up near Chicago- I remember we would still be complaining about the weather in June sometimes. Hopefully you’ll get some spring-ish temps this week!

That’s great that your coached runners did well.. It was fun tracking my friends.
Have fun in Atlanta… I bet it’s hot there.

Your analogy of nine months of winter, and a mere three of summer, is spot-on! Although, it finally feels more like spring and less of winter in recent days. I hope you have a fantastic time on your trip!

It must have been so rewarding to see your coached athletes at Boston. I only caught bits and pieces of it but I didn’t personally know anyone running there.

Today was supposed to hit 70, but it’s still somewhat cool (darn wind!). Still much better than snow! We don’t always have Spring either, but I would say this year has actually been better than most.
I’m sure you had a great time this weekend!

I’m so glad you had a great weekend in ATL! I waved when we drove by GT. I’m sure you are missing her terribly already!

That must be so rewarding to see your athletes run Boston! The app was pretty good this year. I ended up streaming the coverage at work all morning 🙂 And yep, it was far too warm for me this week (on race day!!).

I hope you had so much fun!
I did watch a little of the marathon. It was a bit of a chaotic Monday so it was hard to snag the time.
