Winter returned this week. It was cold and blustery with shots of snow. After some very cold days leading into the weekend, Sunday should be warmer, with a milder week ahead. I’m more than ready for it! Here’s how the workouts went.
Monday: Walk 1 mile, Treadmill Bootcamp +Upper Body Strength
Tuesday: Walk 4 miles, Women’s Day 5k + Core
Wednesday: Walk 4 miles, Super Set Strength + Core
Thursday: Walk 4 miles, otherwise rest
Friday: Walk 2 miles, Bike Bootcamp, Core
Saturday: Walk 2 miles, otherwise rest
Sunday: Walk 4 miles, Heavy Strength
I celebrated International Women’s Day with the ZOOMA Women’s Day 5k . It’s always a fun event and I love that we have runners from every state and many countries participating.
The medal never disappoints!
After the 5k, I decided to shutdown running for the week, because something at my hip crease isn’t right. It’s been a minor but nagging issue ever since I did Ross Rayburn’s Restorative Yoga (oh the irony). It bothers me most when I run and sometimes a tiny bit after, so I’m going to rest and hope it calms down.
I got a chance for a presale test-drive of the Skirt Sports Gym Girl Ultra in the new Bliss pattern. Love the colors and the comfort! The Eclipse Tank, also from Skirt Sports, is my all-time favorite. Use code MARCIA15 to save 15%.
We spent most of Saturday at Thing 2’s Solo & Ensemble concert. She’s very shy with her music so it was a total treat to hear her perform. Her solo this year was Fantaisie by Fauré.

Full-Body Super Set Workout. Grab your weights and join me for this one. We’ll hit up all the muscle groups, with just enough cardio in between to keep that metabolism fired up.
I’ll leave you with this view from my office the other day.
How was your week? Is it still wintery where you are? Are you excited to spring forward?
I’m linking up with Kim and Deborah for the Weekly Run Down. Join us!

Oooh, sorry to hear about the hip flexor. Mine has been talking a bit too. I’m glad SJ backed off on the weight a bit, that seems to be helping.
I’m so glad it’s finally going to warm up!
Darlene says
Oh no. I hope the rest heals your hip.
Yes. It’s winter here. We get your weather. So send spring over.
I still got out for my runs. It’s was not t always pleasant.
Catrina says
What a wonderful piece of music! It must have been wonderful to hear Thing 2’s flute solo.
How ironic with the yoga setting off your hip niggles! I’m sure a rest from running is all it takes. Speedy recovery, Marcia!
Jenny says
That’s really strange about you hip issue, because several months ago i had a weird thing with my SI joint- I could run but something felt very off. And it was while I was doing restorative yoga! I don’t see how the yoga could have caused it, but i haven’t done restorative yoga since (just in case.) I hope yours feels better soon.
Aw… congratulations to your daughter! My daughter wouldn’t play a solo this year but she did play in two ensembles. We’re strongly encouraging her to play a solo next year!
Liz Dexter says
Lovely photo at the end and well done to your daughter! Hope your niggle smooths out. No snow here but it is quite variable. Our clocks don’t go till the end of the month, always weird.

Nice office view!
Sorry about the hip issue. I keep meaning to look at that class, because there are times that certain Yoga styles are named, but what they teach isn’t what I would consider to be that style. Anyway, it always sucks when you do something good for yourself & it comes back to bite you! Hope you’re back to normal quickly.
I played that Faure piece . . . oh so many decades ago.

Ouch on the hip! That’s a tricky spot, and I sometimes feel it most when I run as well. Warmer weather is on the tap for this entire week. I took Max out earlier…it was 34F and felt rather balmy, I kid you not! We’re supposed to be in the high-50’s this afternoon and all week after that.
Coco says
I was shocked when we saw snow all day yesterday. It only stuck a bit on the grass, but it was 60F on Friday!
Sorry to hear about your hip. I hope it quiets down. I’m grateful I don’t have any twinges after my 8 mile ‘mill run yesterday. I am ready to be healthy and stay that way!
Jessie says
I hope the hip pain goes away quickly Marcia! Glad you’re being careful and you still have lots of good options for staying active and healthy.
Beautiful sunrise from your office!
Michelle says
Ugh I’m sorry to hear about your hip – my flexor is cranky today too.
I love that new Bliss pattern – I’ve been trying to hold off on buying more new gear (cause I really need to purge some of what I have) but I’m tempted!
Deborah Brooks says
I have had that hip flexor issue before it is not fun at all. Darn that yoga! Sounds like it was a good week to take it inside with the cold temps. Hope you are feeling better this week
Jenn says
It’s miserable here! Cold, windy, rainy, and tornadoes. Yuck, yuck, and yuck.
Cute skirt pattern! I will have to check out the tank, too. I’m always on the hunt for great fitness tanks!

It seems like Winter wanted to give all of us one last blast of crappy weather before Spring officially starts on Sunday, lol.
I love that Women’s Day 5K medal – so cute!

I hope Solo & Ensemble went well! My son has only done ensembles. I love to hear them play!
