The first week of March is a wrap and I have to say it came in like a lion..well a lion cub…since the weather was actually pretty mild. We got our first string of days in the ballpark of 50 degrees and it felt oh so nice! Here’s how the week in workouts went:
Monday: Walk 4 miles, Run 4 miles + Upper Body Strength
Tuesday: Walk 4 miles, 30 min EDM Bike
Wednesday: Walk 2 miles, Trail Run 3 miles, Standing Abs
Thursday: Walk 3 miles, Run 1 mile, 45 mins strength + Core
Friday: Walk 3 miles, otherwise rest
Saturday: Walk 4 miles, Trail Run 5 miles
Sunday: Walk 4 miles, TBD
The trails were covered in snow at the beginning of the week…
By Saturday the trails were mostly dried out and I felt overdressed for temps pushing 40 degrees. Let the record show it got up to almost 70 here on Saturday. I sure wish the mild weather would stick around, alas there’s snow in the forecast for Monday.
We had the pleasure of attending another of Thing 2’s concerts this week. It was the first time in a looong time masks were not mandatory at school and it seemed weird. Next weekend she has the solo and ensemble contest. I’m super excited for her but I don’t hear too much practice happening.
I also made my travel plans to attend Thing 1’s sorority Mother/Daughter weekend in Atlanta in April. Thanks to the pandemic it was canceled both her freshman and sophomore years so you’d better believe I’m not going to miss it.
How cool is the Nike compound in Beaverton? I especially love that wooded track! See it at the 40-sec point!
Thing 1 also got confirmation that her internship this summer will be in-person at Nike Headquarters in Beaverton. We are super pumped for her and while I’m a bit bummed she won’t be home for spring or summer break, I know she’s going to have the experience of a lifetime this summer, and of course we’ll visit!

Standing Abs and Core Workout. Sometimes, you just don’t feeling like getting down on the mat. This sequence is quick yet effective, and requires absolutely no equipment.
Watching
We’ve been striking out lately on our TV viewing. We abandoned the latest season of Emily In Paris because it seemed super cheesy. We’re a few episodes in to the newest Mrs. Maisel episodes and this one seems to be a borefest as well. We finished Ozark and are now watching Inventing Anna, a Netflix series based on the true story of a socialite con artist. This one is pretty good so far.
How was your week? Did you get a taste of spring? What are you watching?
I’m linking up with Kim and Deborah for the Weekly Run Down. Join us!

Good luck to J at her competitions! Will she start looking at schools for music?
I’m glad you get to spend time with M even it if isn’t at home. She’s got some exciting things coming up!
Have a good week!

Yay for an in-person internship! And for the mother-daughter event. Our firm is trying to drop virtual options for things like that unless someone has extenuating circumstances. We’ll see how that goes.
I was going to suggest Inventing Anna — it was hard to pull ourselves away!
We might see 80F tomorrow.

I’m watching inventing Anna too. And the Guilded age.
That’s awesome about your trip to Atlanta. And in person maskless events returning.
Hoping the snow melts with todays temps and rain so our running paths clear.

How wonderful that you will be able to attend your daughter’s event in April!
I didn’t know you could insert You Tube videos into the blog post like that. I’ve tried before but it doesn’t seem to work for me. Any tips?
We just watched the Tinder Swindler this weekend and a friend suggested Inventing Anna so maybe I’ll check it out.
I hope spring is headed your way to stay. It is suppose to be in the 70’s here this week, but I’ll believe it when I feel it..lol

That’s cool about your daughter’s internship! She must be very excited!
I just finished watching Maniac on Netflix. I got sucked into it and found myself wondering where they were going next with each episode. Inventing Anna is in my queue.

I’m two episodes into Inventing Anna, and it’s quite captivating! Huge congrats to Thing 1’s internship! That looks like a fabulous opportunity! Our temps got really warm yesterday afternoon (high 60F’s), but there were tornado warnings and watches that lasted until 8:00, and thunderstorms after that. UGH!

My sister enjoyed Inventing Anna. Not my thing. I keep trying to find stuff that’s uplifting, but it’s hard, which is a shame.
Our week was not as pleasant weather-wise as yours (or as warm). Except for today we’re pretty much still stuck in 30s & 40s but that’s better than single digits. 🙂
Your daughter’s internship sounds really cool!

It was really a week for band concerts! Three of us have posted about our kids’ concerts this week. March is always a busy month. I would be SUPER bummed if my son weren’t going to be home this summer, but on the other hand I wouldn’t turn down a trip to Oregon! That should be amazing.
Glad you got some snow-less runs this week! Maybe March will go out like a lamb.

Your daughter’s internship sounds great! Good for her. Mrs. Maisel got better and I am liking it now. I just started watching the lost symbol on Peacock based on Dan Brown novels kind of fun. Have you tried Gilded Age? Also really good. WE also had quite the warm up this weekend not sure I am ready for this humidity yet!

that Nike track is SO cool. When we were there for Hood to Coast, we try to visit, but they wouldn’t let us in. Congratulations to your daughter!
And wow 70 degrees! So so jealous. People must have been so happy!

What a fantastic internship opportunity for M! Congrats to her!
I am jealous that you’ve returned to school concerts – I think my high schooler is going to have to wait until next school year.
I hope you’re able to dodge the snow tomorrow!

Love that you will be attending the Mother-Daughter weekend – this past Saturday, a friend of mine organised a French chef to come to her house for a cooking session. She invited mums and daughters and asked that we where “French chic” – I had the best time shopping with my girl and preparing for the event. She’s actually closer to her dad than she is to me (they are so similar in so many ways!!) – so this was a great way for us to bond, just the two of us.

Your daughters are doing so well, Marcia! I love that Nike compound. I can see many Nike shoes and clothes coming your way soon… 🙂
I thought I was the only one who couldn’t stand Emily in Paris. I didn’t get through a whole episode, it was so ridiculous. Glad to hear that Inventing Anna is good, I haven’t tried it yet.
