Since we just celebrated Mardi Gras, I figured I’d pull out my NOLA Starbucks mug to join Deborah, Coco and you for a little sit-down and catch-up session. While I’m going to skip the king cake, I will enjoy some Harbor Dog blend from my favorite coffee roaster in Maine, with a scoop of collagen and a splash of half & half. What’ll you have?
That lump of fuzz in the background is none other than Ozzy, aka Mr. Comfy
These are not this year’s medals but, rest assured, they will not disappoint.
Over coffee I’d ask what races you have coming up. I’d tell you that some of my BRFs and I have been trying to put a girls’ weekend together for quite some time and we finally did it. We’ll be running ZOOMA Amelia Island in October. Now that ZOOMA and Skirt Sports are sister companies, I’m going to tell you right now that the race swag is going to be incredible. Wanna join us?
Over coffee I’d tell you I’m seeing improvements in the fat burn department according to my Lumen Metabolism tracker. Lumen now let’s you keep a food log right in the app so you don’t need to use My Fitness Pal or something else. Now that I’ve gotten used to it, I’m enjoying it. And I’m finding it easier to hit my macros too. Try it for yourself and save 10% with MARCIA10.
Over coffee I’d ask you if you take probiotics. While I eat “some” probiotic foods, (I’m looking at you Greek yogurt and kombucha) this is an area where I certainly can do better. So when Bloat No More invited me to try their wellness kit, I was all over it. I’ve been good about taking the morning and after-dinner probiotics, but I runfess I often forget to take the mid-day one.
That said, after just two weeks, I’ve noticed more energy, a lighter, brighter mood and yes, that fat burn (especially that heinous lower belly fat) I mentioned above when I talked about Lumen. I suspect the probiotics are helping on that front as well. Bloat No More probiotics are sold separately or part of the 3-step wellness kit shown above. Save 10% with code MARCIA21496.
What would you tell me over coffee? Are you a fan of king cake? Ever been to Mardi Gras? What probiotic foods do you enjoy?
I’m linking up with Darlene, Michelle, Renee, Jenn and Zenaida, for Fit Five Friday. Join us!

That trip to Amelia Island sounds like so much fun! I have a mini-racecation planned for April. It just fell into place, although the only thing that gives me pause is that it is the week after my 15 mile trail run. Oh well, it’s all about having fun, right?
Burning fat is a big win!!
Darlene says
I’ve been to Nola but not for Mardi Gras. I college thought I did attend in Nice France. What a blast.
Big FOMO on Amelia island. You will have so much fun. Unfortunately I’m going on a racecation in Maine.

I took probiotics after my colonoscopy, for a couple of months, and that was it. Too pricey and I don’t really see more energy from them. I chose carefully, too, because most are dead before you even take them. That’s great that they’re working well for you!
Been to NOLA a couple of times, but never for Mardi Gras. My husband isn’t a fan of crowds. On the news just recently they were saying what a “family” even it really is. I am highly skeptical of that.
Marcia says
Oh God no. Mardi Gras the way I saw it in NOLA was very much NOT a family event! :O
Coco says
Like others, I’ve been to NOLA, but not Mardis Gras. I don’t mind King Cake. 😉 For probiotics, I mostly eat yogurt, but I know they are so important and can be beneficial.
Amelia Island sounds great!

I really need to board the probiotics bus and take a ride. I don’t have any specific issues, but I’ve heard so many great things about probiotics. I’d like to see NOLA some day. I know the R’nR series used to have a NOLA event…haven’t heard about that in a few years (?).

Yeah, I’m looking around for some good probiotics with my current, ahem, issues. I’ve been eating a lot of prebiotic foods. These look good, and it sounds like they’re working for you. Maybe I’ll give it a try! I definitely like the name, Bloat No More, ha ha.
That ZOOMA race sounds amazing- and it’s up near Jenn’s neck of the woods. Maybe she’ll join you! Sounds like a really fun time.
Deborah Brooks says
NOLA was a fun race to do and a great city to explore. I have a hard time waking up in fat burning zone. Despite my much lower carb diet, I usually wake up in 2 or 3. My body has a hard time processing carbs efficiently. Zooma sounds super fun. I am still trying to decide about my fall race schedule

Your kitchen, Marcia! I love the clean, modern look!
Would you believe it, I eat a few bites of Sauerkraut every day. A German blogger once told me I should try it out – I did, and never looked back. So effective!
Also, I am brewing my own kombucha, which I love.
I would love to join that getaway on Amelia Island if I was in the US. That’s going to be so much fun!
Donna says
I usually make a King cake but decided not to this year. My daughter (16) recently told me she missed not having one so I may make one this weekend, thanks to Mom guilt!
I eat Greek yogurt and Kimchi a lot so I get my probiotics that way. It’s difficult to know which pills are good ones.
The race sounds like a lot of fun!
Kim G says
I love Greek yogurt and kombucha, but have never tried a probiotic supplement so now I am very intrigued!
Michelle says
Amelia Island sounds like fun!
I’m a fan of Greek yogurt and kombucha. You’ve piqued my interest in those supplements, especially in combination with the Lumen. I’m still using My Fitness Pal to track my macros because I have so many recipes already in place. I also wish Lumen’s tracker had more flexibility in portions (i.e., fractions). Still, I love it and am learning a lot – I’m seeing more 2s in the morning!
Zenaida Arroyo says
I’ve been to New Orleans twice for a race but don’t have that mug. Now I want one too. 🙂 That trip in October sounds like fun! When is it? I will check out the probiotic supplement. I like greek yogurt but do not eat it enough or not as much.
Farrah says
I’ve never been to Mardi Gras but love how festive it looks!
I don’t really have anything with probiotics in it but I’ve been thinking about incorporating Greek yogurt back into my life — so much protein and so easy to “dress up” with fruit!
Jenn says
Oh my gosh! I get to meet you in Amelia Island!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m so excited!
