I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! It was SO busy here with work, airport runs, Thanksgiving prep and of course dinner, followed by two very full days of MIL’s 80th birthday festivities. Let’s just say three big dinners on three consecutive days is not something I care to repeat.
Anywho, I did my best to keep moving. Here’s how the workouts went:
Monday: Walk 4 miles, Fully body strength
Tuesday: Walk 4 miles, Trail run 4 miles, upper body strength
Wednesday: Walk 4 miles, Trail Run 3 miles, Core
Thursday: Walk 4 miles, Bike Bootcamp, Stretch
Friday: Walk 4 miles, otherwise rest
Saturday: Walk 4 miles, Treadmill Bootcamp, Core
Sunday: Walk 4 miles, TBD
I was a very bad girl about taking pics and I pretty much disconnected from social media this week, but I did capture this gorgeous sunrise walk. Our temps bounced around as usual. 15 degrees one morning, 38 degrees the next. It’s the nature of the beast that is late fall I guess.
I finished the Amalfi Coast virtual challenge. Another of the fun features of The Conqueror Challenges is they plant trees in your honor for every 20% of the challenge that you complete, so 5 trees total when you finish. Right now the Great Wall Challenge is 30% off for Black Friday/Cyber Monday. I think I might do it. Check it out here.
Here’s my MIL with the final dessert of the week. Now if I can just get all the leftover pie out of here. Thing 2 has friends coming over today. Hopefully they will polish it all off!

This was a busy week, wasn’t it? I’m already missing my boys. I managed not to overeat this week, but yesterday with the boys, I did make some unhealthy choices, lol. It was fun tho!
That cake looks amazing!

I am also not comfy with all the eating big dinners in one week. Your MIL does really like her birthday celebrations! She looks happy though I already miss my kiddos all over again

My sister bought a pumpkin pie this year, so it was my first Thanksgiving without baking my own. Honestly, I really missed that ritual and almost made one anyways ((almost, LOL)). The hubby, bless him, over-baked our turkey… so that kept my protein intake very minimalized, ha! I woke up to a very quit house this morning….

Nope on Black Friday.
Apple pie. Warm with vanilla ice cream.
Glad to hear you had a nice holiday.
If I had those sunrise views I may run that early. Lol.

I didn’t feel like I ate that badly, but my digestive system is telling me otherwise. I’m thinking of throwing away the rest of the pumpkin pie… we’ll see if I can get myself to do it!
Having a birthday celebration like that right after Thanksgiving would be… challenging. You had to do it though- 80 is a big one. Sounds like it was all fun! Hope you’re able to recover and have a quiet Sunday.

A very busy week and 3 big dinners in a row are a very tough commitment.
A beautiful sunrise!
When a real run on the Amalfi coast?
I visited the Great Wall but I ran on the treadmill because I didn’t know the city and the traffic around was chaotic.

That’s a lovely photo of your MIL!
I remember she wanted you all to get tested before the get-together. Did you do it in the end? And ALL the sketches, too? 😉
I’m impressed with how you kept up with your workouts despite all the festivities. Well done!

3 big dinners would feel like a lot to me too. I was feeling a food hangover after Thursday. That cake looks amazing!
Nice job with your Amalfi challenge – I like that they planted trees. I may check out the Great Wall challenge – it would be nice to have a focus.

I bought TJs Brookies. *I* thought they were good. Also mini cheesecakes in a variety of flavors from Whole Foods — also very good. Of course my mom didn’t like any of it, but she has very little appetite & likes almost nothing these days.:(
As I said to Kim, I don’t think it’s a bad thing to be off of social media during a holiday! I like to do it occasionally just cause. 🙂
Looks like at least your MIL enjoyed her festivities, I know you struggle with her.

That is a gorgeous sunrise, and a nice picture of MIL too. That cake looks amazing. I’m sure I ate too much on Thanksgiving, and am still having pie, but just a sliver at a time.
Airport runs can be time consuming if you have to go to O’Hare. I will pay more to fly in/out of DCA instead of IAD if it’s an option.

That’s a lot of hosting and cooking! You must be exhausted.
Beautiful sunrise!

Such a busy week for you but I hope that you were able to enjoy the holiday and have fun! We still have leftovers which I’m hoping will be gone by tomorrow. My mom always ends up making too much food even though there’s only 5 of us at dinner each year, lol.

Happy 80th birthday to your MIL. She looks great!
I am still in recovery mode so I made sure to not be busy and just relax these past few days.
Have a great week coming up!

Phew, so busy! I hope you are resting a bit this week.

The only thing I bought on Black Friday was a new QALO ring, after Luna ate mine (and “returned” it to me). Sigh.
So glad to hear you had a great Thanksgiving, even if it was hectic. I LOVE apple pie. Pies are just amazing, and apple is one of the best.

Your MIL looks so elegant!!! Wow! Happy 80th Birthday to her and so glad you were able to enjoy it together. That sunrise photo is brilliant.
