Hello again from Florida! We’ve been here in Paradise…I mean Florida for 2 weeks now. I am still thanking my lucky stars that we were able to get out of Chicago before the polar conditions hit. When I checked earlier today it was a whole 1 degree back home, with still more snow coming down.

Here’s how the week in workouts went:
Monday: Walk 4 miles, Run 2 miles + 1 mile with Oz
Tuesday: Walk 4 miles Run 1 mile with Oz
Wednesday: Walk 4 miles Run 3 miles + 1 with Oz, Resistance Band Workout
Thursday: Walk 4 miles, Run 2 miles + 1 mile with Oz, Balance + Mobility workout
Friday: Walk 4 miles, Run 2 miles + Corework
Saturday: Walk 4 miles, Run 3 miles, Corework
Sunday: Walk 4 miles, Run 2 miles, Strength & Cardio Intervals
We are mostly staying on our little compound, working most of the day while the kids are doing remote school. There’s something about warm weather and sunshine that seems to melt my stress away and lift my spirits. I’ll be very interested to see the effect some time in a Southern climate has on my Vitamin D levels.
Running has been minimal but consistent. I’ve strung together a bit of a run streak, which was totally unintentional. The more days you string together though, the more you want to continue.
I’ve been getting out early, before the heat of the day sets in. Some days are steamier than others but you won’t catch me complaining about heat. It’s nothing a dip in the pool can’t fix.
I’ve been sharing our sunsets over on Insta stories. The only one I’ve missed so far is the night I had dinner with Marybeth. I’m very grateful the back of our house faces West.

We’re on the second season of Blown Away. A glass blowing competition of sorts. It’s amazing what these artists come up with. I have no clue how to blow glass.
How was your week? How are you coping with winter? Ever do glass blowing?
I’m linking up with Kim and Deborah for the Weekly Run Down. Join us!

You’ve got me – I’ve signed up for the race and made a small donation too. Hooray! And lovely pics and activity. I did a three-day streak this week but that was enough for me. I am enduring winter, it was freezing in the week and slightly warmer but wet today, I have all the clothes I need so it’s OK. Ish.

Ah, here I am wondering when the roads might be de-iced enough to go to the grocery store. Love the sunsets! Blown Away sounds like a very cool show!
Run streaks do creep up on you that way.

So glad to read that you are enjoying your time in Florida. I agree, just being somewhere sunny and new sure helps! Enjoy your run streak 🙂

Glad you are enjoying the warmth of Florida. I am green with envy. It was -2 real feel -24 on my run this morning and nope, I didn’t run on the TM, I went outside. I figured why not? The thermoball is getting a workout this winter, lol
Stay cool, I guess! :p

You chose the right time to be in Florida! I love those sunsets.
Do you always visit the same place when you are there?
I signed up for the 5k. So exciting!

It was a great idea to escape to Florida this month! I don’t think I would complain about the heat if I was there either. I don’t know anything at all about glass blowing!

I’m so glad you’re having a good time in Florida! A sweaty run followed by a dip in the pool sounds so amazing. You definitely got out of Chicago just in time! Enjoy! Maybe by the time you return, it will be spring weather – fingers crossed. 🙂

So glad your Florida escape is going well! Send some warm vibes this way, will you 😉
Thanks for the reminder about the Zooma run – I had meant to sign up when I got the email notification the other day but then promptly forgot about it.

I actually have done glass blowing as a teenager at camp! I don’t have any of it any more, but I used to.
I don’t think I ever had my vit D checked when I lived in TX, but I can tell you I was much, much happier in Winter there. Summer, now — I don’t like the heat & humidity either! By that I mean 95 or so. 🙂

I’ve done almost every imaginable form of art, but glass-blowing has not been one of them. It looks fascinating. Talk to me about run streaks LOL And, we won’t even brooch the subject of bike streaking 😉 I’m glad you’re having a great time in the sunshine state!

I’m so glad that you are having the best time. There are truly some beautiful sunsets this time of year, and I’m glad you are getting to experience it.
We have a glass blowing studio here that does date night clinics. I want to try it but i am terrified of getting burned (fire and burning are among my irrational fears). It would be so fun, I’m sure, but so risky!

Glad you’re enjoying the Sunshine State! Are you on the west coast? The sunsets over there are gorgeous. Enjoy your week!

Stay as long as you can in Florida. No reason to come back here. Just awful here. Or maybe you can come back and bring some of that warm weather. We need it to melt all of the snow. 🙂

What a neat race idea!! Can’t wait to sign up to join in!! Looks like you are having a beautiful time!! we are currently at -5 degrees in Kansas!!

You picked the perfect time to leave Chicago. The weather there has been brutal lately. It seems like it’s been cold everywhere in the US…even Texas got snow and ice!
Glad you’re enjoying the sunshine and your runs!

You have the right idea with your FL trip! Hubs and I had gotten in a good pattern of doing a long weekend somewhere warm in in winter and I can’t wait to get back to that.

So glad you are enjoying your time in Florida! It does seem like it was a good time to get away!
I am going to sign up for the race – sounds fun! And free is a very good price!
