It’s not quite a week since we made our escape from the polar Midwest and headed to a warmer, sunnier climate. Florida was chillier than ideal when we arrived but it’s warmed up considerably. In my book it beats 20+” of snow and icy pavement any day. Here’s how the week in workouts went. Do you notice a trend?
Monday: Walk 1 mile, Full Body Strength, 10 minute warmup on the bike
Tuesday: Travel Day
Wednesday: Walk 4 miles, Run 4 miles, 1 with Ozzy
Thursday: Walk 5 miles, Run 3 miles, 1 with Ozzy
Friday: Walk 4 miles, Corework + Mobility, Run 2 miles, 1 with Ozzy
Saturday: Walk 4 miles, Run 3 miles, 1 with Ozzy
Sunday: Walk 4 miles, Run 1 mile with Ozzy, Resistance Band workout
Our first two days were long-sleeve run days but after that it’s been tank and shorts all the way. Low humidity though!
Ozzy, like most dogs, is a creature of habit. It took him a day or two to settle into our new temporary abode. He also settled into the routine of expecting…make that demanding…a daily run. So far I’ve only ventured out in our neighborhood for running. Ozzy has enjoyed joining me for a mile or two here and there.
It was so great to see my friend, and former blogger Marybeth, otherwise known as Speedy MB. We caught up over some delicious Florida seafood. Some may think this blogging thing is silly but it’s pretty awesome to have friends literally all over the world.
Today (Sunday) we’re heading to Tampa to pickup Thing 1 from the airport. You may know that the Super Bowl is being played in Tampa so I’m not sure what to expect at the airport as far as crowds, security etc. go. All that said I can’t wait to see my college girl!

Upper Body Strength & Sculpt. This workout was designed to deliver arms and shoulders that not only look great but more importantly are STRONG! Grab some hand weights and join me. Oh and Ozzy made a cameo appearance in this one!
How was your week? Do you enjoy running in new places?
I’m linking up with Kim and Deborah for the Weekly Run Down. Join us!

Can’t wait to get to Florida no matter how cold it is.
Look at all your running. Good for you.
Yes. Friends in faraway places is the best. I’ve met so many great people because I blog.
Enjoy.

Pretty jealous that you got out of here just in time. This polar weather has settled in and doesn’t plan on leaving anytime soon. Have so much fun down there!

Glad it’s warming up a bit there for you! Although I agree, anything is better than snow and ice. Have fun with your daughter!

How lovely to get that warmth, and I love bloggers and blogging, not silly at all. if I ever make it back to the US I know I have people to see all over the place and I was thrilled to meet Renee in Liverpool in 2019!

I’ve read that blogging is ‘over’ but I don’t care. I’m going to keep doing it, for me, but also because there are real connections made!
I’m so jealous of your trip to Florida and love that Ozzy got to come with!

It’s great that you got to see Marybeth! I see a lot of walking happening for you, and that’s fantastic! You’re probably not fighting any windchill like we are here LOL Glad Ozzy is enjoying his time there as well.
Jenny says
Yep, we finally got some nice warm weather for you! Funny that you’re going to Tampa today- I would think it’s going to be crazy but there are fewer spectators involved this year, right? Anyway I hope you’re sticking around for a while because next week looks nice and warm!

How fun to see MaryBeth! I bet it feels great to get all of that time outdoors in the warmth and sun! Enjoy it!

Friends all over the place can be sad when they’re not in your own city but it is awesome 99% of the time. Glad you were able to escape and meet up. Hope Tampa pick up goes smoothly. xx

Seems like you picked a good time to leave Chicago. I heard the weather was brutally cold there this weekend! Happy that Ozzy is adapting well to his new surroundings!
So glad that your daughter arrived today! It must feel great to have the whole family together again 🙂

Enjoy your time with your family and in a warmer location. Yeah, it is awful here. Haha, that photo of Ozzy is so cute. You cannot say no to him.

Nice to meet up with MB!
Chester & Lola were pretty good travelers. Well, Lola was not great in the car, but once we got where ever we were going she was fine.
Bandit — who of course doesn’t have a great history — is not a very adaptable dog. We stayed one night with him in a hotel and it did not go well at all. Glad Ozzy has settled in.

I was dreaming of jumping on a plane and going to Palermo where the sun is shining and it’s a lot warmer… so I can just imagine how ti feels to be in Florida right now!!
How fun to see Marybeth! I love, too, having blogging friends all over. Like Liz said, it was awesome to meet up with her in Liverpool and great that I’ve had the chance to see you on European soil as well as the US! And many others of course!
I do very much enjoy running in new places.
