Here we sit, another month in COVID isolation, and meteorlogical summer is just about to bite the dust. Before we bid farewell to August, it’s time to open the Runfessional. Let’s do that now.
I runfess I’m sad for all the freshmen of the world being deprived of a proper “freshman experience”. These were the same kids deprived of their senior/8th grade festivities. Life is not fair.

I runfess I was pretty smug back in March and April because I had a big fat stack of toilet paper and one of those mega packs of Clorox Wipes canisters you get at Costco. Hoarding has it’s benefits. Five months later though, my Clorox stash is wearing thin and, search as I might, I haven’t been able to replenish the stock, unless I want to pay $30 per canister on Amazon. Joke’s on me I guess. Seriously though: Where are the damn Clorox wipes? Surely they’ve ramped up production?! Why are they never, ever in stock?? Inquiring minds wanna know!
I runfess I’ve fallen in love with one of Thing 2’s high school teachers. Remote learning is no picnic for anyone, especially if you’ve got a dog that jumps on the bed behind you, ripping up pillows, stealing pencils etc., and apparently this teacher’s dog does it regularly. Then I noticed the teacher’s shirt. I spy a runnah!
I runfess having Thing 1 away at college has it’s benefits. Of course I miss her like crazy but I have to admit meal planning is much simpler now, because she’s a picky one. Let’s not even talk about all the laundry she generates.
I runfess I’m a Fré Skincare fanatic, and when it’s on sale, I can’t resist buying it. Purify Me is my favorite cleanser ever because it’s specially designed to leave sweaty, post-workout skin clean and fresh without drying it out. Revive Me deep replenishing serum is pure magic. Everything is vegan, cruelty- and paraben-free as well as hypoallergenic. Save 40% off the entire product line + free shipping with RUNDEF, but hurry because this offer expires on 8/28.
It’s your turn: What have you to runfess?

Funny about the Clorox wipes! And, TP is still not always readily available…STILL. It was really eerie hitting the grocery stores a week or so post-derecho here…limited stock on everything, no frozen/refrigerated items, and good luck snagging a bag of ice anywhere. It really felt like a Twilight Zone experience.

We have had a hard time finding cleaning products this whole time. My husband went to Target a few weeks ago and was able to get a pack of Clorox wipes but I think they were limiting them to 1-2 per customer. I guess thats why they had some in stock! I think since they are still hard to find people are still hoarding them when they are available.

I think college freshman have it even worse — my nephew is one (he’s the last of the 2nd gen to go to college). But let’s face it, I do think it’s hardest on the kids.
Maybe try alcohol wipes instead? That’ll kill anything. Luckily it’s just the 2 of us so we’ve managed to keep a supply on hand.
I would think schooling with a dog would have its benefits, too. Built in therapy dog. 😊 I managed to have a couple of cats in my senior year of college.

At work, they’ve had to hide the sanitzing wipes because they kept disappearing!
After talking with so many families via work this week, I feel sorry for all the kids having to do virtual learning. Now they’re glued to the computer all day. It’s just a bad situation no matter how you look at it.

I think it takes an early morning Target run and some luck! I’ve got some hidden from my husband. He already uses too many paper towels for everything—like as placemats for his tv snacks.
I hope daughters have good years anyway!

I agree. I am sad for all students. Esp those in college.
I’m sad for teachers and professors.
I guess I cannot complain about my life. All first world problems.
I still want to hug people, run races, go to a movie or concert

I also runfess that meal planning and laundry are way easier. The house is a lot cleaner too. Alas, I do miss my kiddos. Napkins and paper towels have been hard to find this whole time. The whole supply chain is messed up.I do feel bad for the kids right now what a confusing time! Thanks for the runfessions
Beckett @ Birchwood Pie says
I’ve noticed a few cases where there are shortages/high prices at Amazon, Costco, and Target but if I hit up the regular grocery store or CVS suddenly the supply chain seems to be working just fine…hmm. We’re still keeping extra TP and paper towels on hand just in case.

I was lazy about unpacking my laundry of late and the only thing I ran short on was socks. Thanks for facilating that solution.
I can mail you wipes if you get desperate.

I’m really so sad for the kids – the whole school situation is just so tough and they’re all missing out on so much 🙁
The whole search for Clorox wipes has become a running joke in my house at this point – I think the last time I was able to snag some in a store was in May. It’s crazy to think they still don’t have the production issues figured out!
Truly strange times…

I’ve seen generic Clorox wipes at Mariano’s and have had no trouble buying spray cleaners.
I hope Maddie’s doing OK in GA. Sounds a bit alarming down there!

I runfess that I didn’t have enough pithy runfessions to link up today, but I’ve got a good start for next month’s runfessional.
I found Clorox wipes at Walmart while visiting my mom, but they had a limit of only one per trip so I made two trips while in the area. They were nice enough to let me buy one for my mom and one for me when I split the order at each trip. After a couple of months of finally having plenty of toilet paper in stock at Costco, they were out last week when I stopped by…

A few of my friends have find disinfecting wipes (not Clorox, but other brands) at Hope Depot and other hardware stores. I found some at Bed Bath and Beyond back in June (the Harmon brand). Hopefully it will be a little easier to get wipes this Fall, especially on Amazon and Costco. I got a good deal on toilet paper via Amazon Pantry earlier this month. It’s sold out now but I keep checking every few days to see if its restocked. If it is, I’ll let you know!

That high school teacher!
I’m sure the dog is a welcome distraction for everyone. I’d love to have that entertainment in some of my online meetings! And that t-shirt makes him perfect. 😊
Laurie says
I never used Chlorox wipes before the pandemic, but now that they are nowhere to be found, I find myself wanting them! 🙂
I can understand your crush on the high school teacher. She (He?) sounds like a genuine, fun person and a runner to boot! Nice!!!

We were stocked with Clotox wipes because of having the puppies but now our pile is slowly dwindling down and like you, we can’t find them here either!
Aww that teachers dog…lol. I bet the dog makes it more exciting for the students!
