It’s cooling down around here. Even though we’re not quite to mid-September, the nights are cooler and the humidity is way down. That’s a divine combo if you ask me. It likely won’t last, but let’s enjoy it while we sit down and catch up over a steaming cup of coffee, shall we?
I’m linking up with Deborah and Coco for the Ultimate Coffee Date. Join us!
Over coffee I’d tell you it’s coming up on a month already since we dropped off Thing 1 at college. While she doesn’t call most days, we keep in touch just fine through the magic of social media.ย I’m having fun surprising her and her dorm mate with sorority goodies. There are so many cute thing on Etsy.
Over coffee I’d tell you the ZOOMA Back-to-School Challenge I’m coaching has sold out and I’m proud of that. While I’d been doing marketing/social media for ZOOMA for over a year, last spring when they asked me to coach I initially gave them a flat NO. Then I put on my big-girl pants, got out of my comfort zone and went for it. And as it turns out, I love it. The Summer Challenge was a sellout blast and Back-to-School is going to be so much fun too. I’m already cooking up some killer workouts for Winter Warrior.
Over coffee I’d tell you with the cooler weather comes an urge to nest and declutter. I’ve already organized (and pared down) my running tanks and tights. Sometimes having space instead of more stuff feels so good! While I refuse to let Halloween into the house until October, I’ve already planted fall flowers, changed out my summer house decor and am diffusing fall essential oils. I love the ones from Now Foods.ย Save $10 your $40 purchase at Now with MARCIANOW10.
Pre-Indy Monumental Marathon. This trio is way overdue for some shenanigans
Over coffee I’d tell you I’m just one week away from a girls’ race weekend in Wisconsin for ZOOMA Great Lakes. I use that “race” term loosely since I’ve barely been running let alone training. Whatever the pace, it will be fantastic to spend a weekend catching up with long-time running friends. I hope the cool weather sticks around for it.
What would you tell me over coffee? Ever say no to something you ended up loving? Are you all-in for fall?
Thelma says
Oh hi, it’s me ๐ And Tara. And you!! LOVE!!! Was this Indy? Man, I miss our post-race bitch-fest and can’t wait to see you. Tara just got her ticket today (not that she’s a procrastinator or anything) and we leave Denver bright and early at 5:30am – ugh. But fun we will have, regardless of how much I’ll have to walk it…..and have you scoped out the cupcake places yet? (just what my larger-than-should-be body needs!!)
Glad Thing 1 seems to be settling in quite well. Can’t wait to hear all about it!
xo

Glad things are all settled and you can bed in for a lovely fall. Hope the coaching continues to go well and well done for stepping up to that!
Allie says
I am LOVING this cool weather!! Not having the pressure of getting up at the crack of dawn to run when the temps are reasonable is just so fantastic! I have a long run today (12 miles) and I can wait until after the kids get on the bus at 8. Magical.
I love that you’re sending Esty care packages to your daughter and her housemates. You’re such a cool mom ๐
And good luck and have a blast this weekend!! I’m sure it will be nice and cool for the race!
Wendy says
I am enjoying the cooler weather but it came a little too soo–I had hoped to get another ski in at the lake. Oh well, no complaining!
Coco says
Hah. Etsy can be a time sink and a money vacuum for sure — but the items are so cute! I’m not suprised your Zooma challenge/coaching sold out. I might join the winter one if my work travel schedule isn’t too crazy. Thanks for joining us for coffee!
MCM Mama says
Sounds like things are going well there. I’m more than a little jealous of the weather – can’t wait to visit WI for ZOOMA next weekend!
See you soon!
Laurie says
I am enjoying the cooler weather for running, but not the diminishing hours of daylight. congrats on your ZOOMA coaching challenge being sold out. I am sure you are a great coach!
Have fun at your girls’ race weekend in Wisconsin. Sounds like it will be an adventure!

When I became a lifetime member at WW asked me if I wanted to be a leader (as they were called decades ago), and I gave her a flat out no. I was working full time at the time, and SUCH an introvert. Then I decided to do it and was so surprised that I loved it, despite being in one of those satellite sites about 30 minutes from home, at night, in VT, in the winter . . . I only lasted a year because we moved to TX & I struggled with my weight.
Not only are you an awesome coach, it’s obvious you’re an awesome marketer as well. I suck at that, which I know from my years of having a graphic design business. Yet here I am, finding myself in another opportunity having to market myself (for yoga). Life is weird, eh?
Deborah Brooks says
Ah congrats and welcome to sorority life! It can be a great experience for them. Glad your daughter is loving school. Zooma Great lakes will be fun. A race cation sounds like the perfect way to get back in the mood for running. Still waiting for the cooler air to arrive!
Sandra D Laflamme says
Have a blast in Wisconsin! I love that you do social and coaching for Zooma. So cool!!!
Erica @ Erica Finds says
It’s been a month already?! No way! Did she meet my friend’s son Sam? Inquiring minds want to know!
Have fun at Zooma! I didn’t realize you were coaching too – so fun!
Kimberly Hatting says
I’m not all into fall just yet. I love my summers, don’t forget ๐ It crashes my sole (a bit) how Momma N is bent on keeping us cold. All the long winters and short summers are kind of evil…That said, I do enjoy all the pretty colors that await us when fall officially is in full swing.
Cari says
I feel you on nesting and decluttering. I’m way more of a fall than a spring cleaning person
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
Great to hear that your daughter is enjoying college life!
And, congrats on your Zooma coaching sell out! I’m sure you’ll have a blast at Great Lakes!
Kim G says
Doesn’t it feel good when you’ve done cleaning and actually have extra space? I did this during my staycation last month and it’s been so beneficial. I can actually not see everything that I have!
Farrah says
I hope you had lots of fun! I recently returned from a whole lot of deserts so I’m definitely appreciating the cool weather as well!
