It’s time once again to grab a cup, sit down and catch up over coffee. I’m linking up with Deborah and Coco for the Ultimate Coffee Date.
Over coffee I’d tell you the college move-in process is not for the faint of heart and we haven’t even done it yet. Thing 1 and I spent the better part of an afternoon at Bed Bath & Beyond scanning items to buy and pickup in Atlanta. The next day I noticed many of those items in Costco for a much better price and better quality. But they don’t offer the pickup option. So maybe we could go to Costco in Atlanta? But what if their stock is wiped out??
Over coffee I’d tell you I was a little ticked off when Thing 2 brought her locker stuff home on the last day of school back in May, many of the supplies I sent her to school with last August returned unused and unopened. I feel like all the time I spent shopping according to the school supply list was a waste. What is up with that??
Over coffee I’d tell you that by the time you read this, chances are good I’m on my way to Empower Summer Camp in Michigan. This should be all kinds of fun! Keep an eye on my Instagram and Insta stories for all the shenanigans.
Over coffee I’d tell you I’m the Coach in Residence for the ZOOMA race series. I just completed the “Lesson Plan” for the Back-to-School Challenge and I’m looking forward to working with my “students” in September. We’ll be covering A-Z exercises that support your running, among other things. Remember strong runners run strong and injury free. Sign up here and use RUNWITHME to save 15%.
Over coffee I’d tell you that it’s Lalapalooza weekend here in Chicago and Thing 1 is there for all 4 days again this year. While I can’t imagine enjoying that caliber of crowd myself, I’m glad she’s having fun. It’ll be one last hurrah with her high school besties before they all go their separate ways off to college.
What would you tell me over coffee?ย

Tom’s going to Lola just on Sunday–it’s so hard not to worry about them, isn’t it? Sounds like Maddie’s got so much ahead of her to look forward to! Aren’t you so excited for her?
Mary Beth Hundley says

Oh college move in is just exhausting! so my son is going to live in his frat house this year (insert panic face). More to come on that! Have a fantastic time this weekend! So jealous

I well remember the list of school supplies…and how much was brought home, barely touched (if at all). I have so many notebooks that aren’t even half-used (but those come along with me on road trips as my blogs-in-the-works manuscript. We have done the Bed, bath & Beyond route, too (three times, to be exact LOL). IT’s a crazy, surreal time. Have fun camping ๐ I’ll be at a family wedding…and outdoor wedding, so I’m hoping for pleasant weather with low humidity #fingerscrossed
Betsy says
I can’t wait to see you at camp! Safe travels. I can’t even imagine the transition to having a kid in college. My son starts middle school in the fall and that seems like a big step to me.

I think the first college move in is always the hardest, after that she’ll know the ropes.
Enjoy camp! Can’t wait to hear about it.

Have fun at camp. I would have loved to do it, but all my travel this year is for college visits and work…
Can’t wait for the Back to School challenge.

I hope that you have an amazing time at camp this weekend! I so wish I could join all of you, but I’m happy I’ll at least get to see you and Wendy in October!

Oh boy, moving from one state to another for college does sound like a drag. I am sending you all the good vibes for that! Have fun at camp! I can’t wait to hear all about it! I went to a music festival in Chicago in June and it was crazy! I can imagine doing all four days of Lolla though!
Laurie says
I can remember finding unused school supplies in my sons’ stuff at the end of the year too. I thought it was just boys. Apparently not! Have fun at camp. It sounds great. Can’t wait to read all the recaps! ๐
Janelle @ Run With No Regrets says
Can’t wait to hear how much fun you have at camp – I’ll definitely be living through you all!
Aw, back to school time…I bet Thing 1 is so excited for her new journey, but it’s great to make memories with your old friends before everything changes!

That camp seemed like so much fun! The Lollapalooza concert on the other hand sounds fun but exhausting!

Yay on being Coach in Residence, so cool!
Bed & Bath is crack, I swear we lived there when I moved into college. It was new to me as we didn’t have them downstate yet
I am insanely behind, so leaving it here
