Sustainability is a buzzword right now, but what does it mean? To me it means using less of the world’s precious resources. Walking or running instead of driving, reusing instead of tossing out, recycling and avoiding plastic as much as possible, since that stuff sits in landfills for the duration, as well as pollutes our oceans, endangering sea life in the process. So sad and disgusting. This is where Run For the Oceans comes in.
Run For the Oceans
Adidas has teamed up with Parley to help reduce the plastic waste that is polluting our oceans by adding it to their clothing and shoes. Check out their designs for men and women here, here and here.
Join The Movement
For one week starting on World Oceans Day, June 8, every kilometer you track in the Runtastic Challenge = $1 contributed to Parley Ocean School which educates our youths on how to create a better future for our planet. If you’re in NYC or LA, join a Run for the Oceans group run.
Download the Runtastic App and join the Challenge here (Runtastic is awesome BTW, I’ve been a fan for years).
How do you practice sustainability? Will you Run for the Oceans? Do you have clothing that contains recycled materials? Have you tried the Runtastic app?

I’ve seen some of the clothing items and they are so nice! I hope more companies follow suit (pun intended)!

I haven’t heard about this but it is pretty cool! I try to recycle and reuse as much as possible. My kids are over the top with their efforts – which is a good thing!
