It was one of those whirlwind weeks that’s left me exhausted and elated at the same time. I’ve been up to my eyeballs in summer fun with family and friends. In case you missed it on social media, it was RnRCHI weekend and I can’t wait to tell you all about it. But first let’s wrap up the rest of the week. My workouts were not too shabby if I do say so myself:
Monday: Rest
Tuesday: Run 6 miles + Strength
Wednesday: Bike + PopSugar Abs/Booty workout
Thursday: Track workout 4 miles
Friday: Rest
Saturday: RnRCHI 5k
Sunday: RnRCHI 10k
Vijay Singh for the win. Actually he did win.
I started the week spectating a golf tournament with the Caveman. His dad was supposed to go with him but since it was super hot and humid, I went in his place. There was a time when I golfed 3x/week. It did wonders for my corporate career. I’m not sure why, but you seem to get instant respect from your male counterparts if you can hit a golf ball decently. I’ll get back to golf…one of these years…
Since they have birthdays less than a month apart, we celebrated both Thing 1 and Thing 2’s special days with a family party. I didn’t realize I’d planned the party during RnRCHI weekend until the invites had gone out. My bad. Made for a super hectic weekend.
We also celebrated my FIL’s 84th birthday with a surprise party at the in-law’s new house. I neglected to take pics. My bad again.
Even with so much going on, it felt like a decent workout week. Any week I make it to the track is a good one, in my opinion. Even if I get there after the sun is up.
Other busyness this week was related to back-to-school. Dentist appointments, sports physicals, that kind of stuff. I hate to say it but Target has their school supplies out. As much as I hate to see it go, summer is indeed slipping away.
How was your week? Did you race? Do you golf? Is there a sport you once enjoyed that you no longer participate in?
Cari says
Sometimes I’m not sure Target ever puts the school supplies away! Glad you had a great week

ha ha ha…golf. I have tried to “love” the sport, but I’m dreadfully terrible at it. It’s not a good hubby/wife bonding thing for us, either. After maybe 2 (or 3, if it’s a good day) holes, the hubby is walking (and not speaking to me) and I’m driving the golf cart with an attitude and not speaking to him either. Not good. SO not good.

Funny, I was at Jewel the other day and walked down the aisle with all the school supplies. I had an immediate feeling of melancholy; it’s been a while since we’ve been at that phase. Now it’s just a few spiral notebooks, if that. I don’t know how you fit it all in this weekend. You must be exhausted!
Wendy says
I”m amazed at your ability to fit it all in!!! I’m so glad you were able to spend some time with us in spite of all your stuff going on at home. I hope you’re putting your feet up today!!!

you sure did have a busy week! Still smiling from our weekend meetup can’t wait to do it again

I used to “Play” golf but I wasn’t very good and it’s too time consuming. When I retire, I want to play again.
What a weekend.
I think I need to plan for the next big blogger meet-up. Keep me posted.

Sounds like a crazy week/weekend. Thankfully we aren’t in get ready for school mode yet – one kid still has a 2 week sleep away camp and the other is in summer school for 3 more weeks.

I’m starting a job at a law firm in September, and I am seriously considering getting some golf lessons in once I do! I’ve never played, but I have heard that it does wonders for your career, especially as a woman.

Our grocery store had its back to school section all ready to go this weekend. I know some schools start earlier than others, and today I actually had traffic coming into work. First time in over a month. I’ve been getting in 5-10 minutes early each day. Is summer really coming to an end?

You had such a super busy weekend! Thank you for taking the time to come to brunch on Saturday despite have like a million other things to do, lol. I really, really enjoyed meeting you IRL – finally!
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
You really had a lot going on. I’m so glad we got a little catch-up time over brunch – it was great meeting you finally 😉 Hope you’re getting a much-needed rest day!

I use to golf and hope to get back to it once my dad heals from his shoulder surgery. My mom and I use to belong to the Tennis club but one year I decided it was crazy to pay to play at the club when i could just go to the free courts in town but then I went less and less until I stopped ..haha (Kind of like I go to the gym when I pay for it but don’t use my own home gym when it is free). I guess the motivation isn’t there…haha

Happy Birthday to the girls! My husband plays golf and I’ve been to golf tournaments. They are actually pretty enjoyable. The supplies have been out a while here as school starts again in 3 weeks. The summer break went too quick…but I’m sure the weather, unfortunately, will hang around for a few months. Great to see you this weekend!

Um, never an athlete so . . . wow, you did have your hands full this week!
