Loving: Our town has cute, one-lane, covered bridges.
Not Loving: When someone decides they’re not going to wait their turn to drive across and sneaks behind the car in front of them. What. You needed to save 5 seconds??
Loving: Costco’s low gas prices.
Not Loving: People that jump the gas line at Costco. I mean really. If I were the gas monitor person I’d want a taser.
Loving: I’ve been sugar-free for 3 days now.
Not Loving: I’ve got Hershey’s holiday peppermint bells in the freezer and they call to me. Constantly. #throwthemout
Loving: Amazon. Could it be any easier to order pretty much anything?
Not Loving: When you order a Christmas gift from Amazon on November 6 and it takes no less than 60 days to appear and when it does it’s ripped open, torn and water damaged.
Not Loving: Super-dry winter skin. Holy reptile Batman, I’m scaly!
Loving: Almond oil from NOW foods. Best (hello natural!) moisturizer ever.
Loving: When the drive-thru barista at Starbucks waves my card away and says “this one’s on us.”
Not Loving: I’m playing Starbucks for life (duh, who isn’t) and I really REALLY wanted NEEDED a game piece with my purchase.
What are you loving lately? And not so much? Did you ever get something free by surprise?

Don’t even get me started on Amazon. I’m still fighting with them about the Vans that I got instead of my boots. Cost me $15 to send those beasts back to them. They gave me “credit”. I wanted a refund to my visa. They told me they thought that was fair. How is that fair? Grrrr…
Kim Hatting says
Ha ha…what a fun post! I’ll play along……I live in a small town, and (most days) I love the laid back, easy-going way of life. What I don’t like is that a lot of “locals” (who know where everyone lives and where everyone is usually going in their cars) don’t use their turn signals for changing lanes or turning. #GRRRrrrrr
Becky @ Ok, So Here's the Plan says
I don’t even want to talk about the drivers around here. The best is when they tailgate when I’m already going over the speed limit – don’t they know I’m just going to slow down?
Lisa @ Running Out Of Wine says
This is great! I really can’t stand drivers who are disrespectful, especially with things like cutting people off. And yes I love Amazon too (especially Prime!). Luckily I havent have any issues like yours. I love that there is a drive through Starbucks around the block from where I work but I don’t like that the line is always completely wrapped around the parking lot!
Meg says
haha, I can sooooo relate to the #sugarfree woes. I cut sugar this week too and I have box of Lindor balls in my cupboard just begging to be released!
Kate says
The line at our Starbucks is insane at all hours. Thankfully, I’m happy with cheap gas station coffee (mixed with hot chocolate).
Loving: That my students seem to have come back without having lost anything they learned in the first semester…AND we finally got the Chromebooks that have been sitting in storage for a year waiting for the tech guy to get schoolwide wireless set up.
Not loving: Rough adjustment for me getting back to work. Ugh. And our teacher tech inservices are the strongest argument ever for ability grouping because 75% of our time is spent walking the one technology-impaired teacher on our team through things our first graders could do.
Sue @ This Mama Runs for Cupcakes says
Ohhh, I’ve never used Almond oil as a moisutrizer! Have you tried Argan Oil? I use that as a moisturizer on my face!
Susie @ SuzLyfe says
Bahahahaha #firstworldproblems. LOVE IT
Deborah @ Confessions of a mother runner says
I’d love to know how you get free Starbucks! My barista knows my “usual” so kind of the same I guess. Ugh the drivers don’t get me started! Have a great weekend and I think you many need to throw out the peppermint balls 🙂
Megan @ Meg Go Run says
I love that it’s starting to feel like winter, but on the other hand, I could do without any temperature below 20 degrees!
Judy @ Chocolaterunsjudy says
Everyone feels so entitled these days. I was coming out of my WW meeting one day, stopped to look both ways before making a left turn, and this guy turns in & completely blocks my view and then just sits there gesticulating at me until I realized that he wanted to park in the handicapped space I was in front of.
Hello, you couldn’t wait until I made my turn (because I was first and had the right of way) and then you could have turned into the parking spot you wanted? Clearly he was handicapped. Mentally!
Then a while back I was at Whole Foods and another elderly gentleman was making a big fuss about how expensive the apples were and how he didn’t want to pay that much (during the holiday season). He did, eventually, wear them down. I remained pleasant throughout, somehow.
My husband pointed out that I could have offered to pay for them, but it never even crossed my mind. Probably would’ve taken even longer, since I wasn’t prepared to pay their entire bill & figuring that mess out would have been time consuming.
The cashier just rolled her eyes at him & I don’t blame her!
Erica @ Erica Finds says
Throw out the bells! #itstheonlyway.
Um, what is Starbucks for Life? #liveunderarock… I had Sbucks every day this week in San Fran and I’ve got no clue!
Nicole @ Fitful Focus says
Can’t believe that about Amazon! I’m in Disney World right now, so I’m pretty much loving everything!
HoHo Runs says
Loving I get to spend a few days in Disney. Not loving my foot or hips. It is what it is…
It is hilarious you would rather pay for your coffee to get a game piece!
Jen @ pretty little grub says
I just had some Christmas presents arrive too, very annoying! And people who are impatient like that on the roads or in line just make me want to rage.
Stephanie says
Love this post! I’m loving the bit of snow we have right now but hating the many people who still haven’t learned how to drive in it 😉
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
Oh the lovely line cutters – especially in the pick-up line at school – so not loving!
alexandra @ my urban family says
Love this post – and your Starbucks one made me laugh. 🙂 Happy Friday!
Coco says
Are you really complaining about a free Starbucks?! But now that you mention it, I will be bummed if my friend who bought my coffee today wins SFL! We’ve had a few Amazon mix-ups but mostly it is so fantastic.
MCM Mama Runs says
DC drivers are the worst. Totally.
I guess I’m lucky – i’ve always had good experiences with amazon.
Ivanna says
I’ve heard a lot of great things about almond oil I need to finally try it out.
Karen @ Fit in France says
I am loving that the days are getting longer, even if you can’t tell.
I am not loving the cold weather this morning…. for my long run.
jill conyers says
I love Now Almond oil. It works great with some of my favorite EOs. My husband works for Amazon. I’m going to tell him about your Not Loving. He will be so annoyed that happened.
Kathryn @ Dancing to Running says
Amazon is certainly convenient, but their return policies are a bit frustrating to deal with. Ugh!
Mary Beth Jackson says
I love Amazon although I did just get my last Christmas present delivered this week! On the road now down to Ft. Lauderdale so we won’t talk traffic or bad drivers! ?
Char says
I’m hear you on the reptile skin. And I’m not loving that it’s even happening in summer for me now.
heather says
The reptile skin is killing me, especially on my hands. I am also pretty much done with winter drivers. When we get even the smallest amount of snow, they either drive so slow they can’t possibly be using the gas pedal or they drive like idiots and are within inches of my bumper. Don’t they realize I am the one going to correct speed???
