Good morning! I’m linking up for some coffee talk with Coco, Lynda and Deborah. I’ve got a nice hot cup of Starbuck’s Blonde Roast ready to go. Let’s sit down and catch up shall we?
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you I’ve been single parenting all week. My FIL is turning 80 so he and his sons have taken a boy’s junket to Cuba. I know, how cool is that? The kids and I miss The Caveman of course and the weird thing is there’s no cell service so no contact. He’ll be back tomorrow….hopefully…
I’d tell you we’re heading out to Thing 1’s conference track finals shortly. Very excited for her and her team. She’s doing the 200m run, 4x200m relay and long jump. I love seeing the effort she puts into her training and the laser focus she has when she competes. Those traits will serve her well.
I’d tell you that it looks like we’re finally going to have a beautiful weekend weather-wise here in the Chicago area. It is May after all…although that means nothing to Mother Nature.
I’d tell you that I’m still so SO happy to have that heinous FPT testing done. Three consecutive days at that intensity made me worry I’d get sick as I’m sure it took a toll on my immune system. Knock wood, so far so good. I’m most incredulous that I was even able to complete the swim portion of the test as swimming without taking rest breaks is a mega challenge for me. But there’s something about having a coach walking along the pool deck with eyes trained on you that brings out your best. You can do more than you think. Always.
I’d tell you I had an amazing blog “field trip” to the NOW Foods Immersion event over the past couple of days. It is really cool to find a company that shares my passion for health and well being in mind, body and spirit. Stay tuned to hear all about that on Monday and I’ve got a massive giveaway. Seriously massive. Don’t miss it.
What would you tell me over coffee? Any fun weekend plans?
Oh, excited to hear more about NOW Foods! Good luck to your daughter today. Thanks for joining us for coffee!
That sounds like a lot of fun–I can’t say I’ve ever been to Cuba! :O
Congrats to you on finishing the FPT testing, and I’m excited to hear about that blog field trip! 😀
Wow. Cuba. That sounds incredible. Good luck to Thing 1 today. Congrats on the FPT testing. We CAN always do more than we think.
At least you’ve got good spectating weather for that track meet!
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that this race is one weekend too late. I’m really fried. If I can pull off a sub-2 tomorrow, that would make me happy. Send me some power and positive thoughts please! Some of that laser intensity that your daughter has too!
Good luck to your daughter at all her racesI can’t wait to hear about the NOW foods event!

Cuba is such an interesting place. How cool!
This weekend I’m doing the Avenue of the Giants marathon. I’m mostly nervous about the parking and about getting kicked off the course for slowness. Hope your girl has a GREAT meet 🙂
Cuba, I would like to visit that country but my wife decided not to fly anymore.
If I only I could run as fast as I swim……
good morning! I think their is a website that men use that helps them plan trips where there is no cell service, just saying 🙂 I here this same thing everytime! LOL! Sounds like a great weekend and I can’t wait to read about your field trip and your giveaway!
Congrats on that test! 🙂 And start thinking of an emergency plan in case The Caveman decides Cuba’s too good to return! 😉
It’s nice that the boys could get away with their 80 year old dad. That family togetherness is special.
Grown up field trips sound amazing!!!
