Truth be told, I love to cook, but I’m not the best meal planner that ever lived. Too many times I’m caught ravenous after a workout and haven’t given any thought to what, exactly, my recovery food will be. Or I’m scrounging around the kitchen late in the afternoon, craving something…but what? Or is it dehydration? And I end up grazing on stuff I don’t really want or need. I hate to say it, but my kids seem to have inherited this trait as well.
The Countertop from Orange ChefΒ changes all that. It actually syncs with your activity tracker so it knows exactly how much you have (or haven’t) worked out. It knows if you’re hydrated. And how much sleep you’ve gotten.
It uses all of this info to suggest the perfect, healthy foods for you. Then it walks you through the prep, step by step.
Add the simple-to-install NFC adapter to appliances you already own, like Vitamix and Crock Pot, and Countertop serves up recipes you can make with them, personalized just for you. Of course you can add your own recipes too.
Over time it learns your likes and dislikes, so Countertop gets even smarter. How cool is that?
As you prep your ingredients using Countertop, it automatically logs exactly what you are eating, so there’s no longer a need to keep a separate food journal. I don’t know about you, but sticking with keeping a food journal has been an epic fail for me because I end up dropping the ball on the logging part.
Countertop from Orange Chef is so new it’s in the pre-order phase. That’s kind of a good thing, because you can save big if you order now. Check out the savings here. But don’t wait. This offer ends soon!
Are you a good meal planner? Where do you go to get recipe inspiration?
Kathryn @ Dancing to Running says
Pinterest is my #1 source for meal inspiration. There are so many great ideas out there!
Karen says
Very interesting idea π I do log everything on an app, I just have a time staying under my budget theses days. I could use the avocado toast and egg now π
Kovas - Midwest Multisport Life says
I’m hit or miss with meal planning, though I always eat WAY better when I do.
Ivanna says
This looks like a cool gadget. I’ve been seeing it around alot. I think it would be great for someone that measures their food as a method of weight loss.
Annmarie says
Can’t wait to get mine! So excited!
Ange @ Cowgirl Runs says
That’s really neat.
I’m torn on whether or not I like the idea of it. On one hand, I love gadgets, but on the other, I don’t want to become too dependent on gadgets telling me what to do and when to eat, you know?
Nicole @ Fitful Focus says
I get most of my meal inspiration from pinterest and other bloggers, but I would LOVE to try this!!
Jenn says
I’m a relatively decent meal planner. I like to cook and I either invent stuff as I go, or adapt familiar recipes to try to keep things fresh. As with anything, I go through ruts, so I sometimes need a jumpstart for inspiration.
Amy @ Running on Faith and Coffee says
This looks pretty sweet! I love using my Vitamix!
Jody - Fit at 57 says
I don’t use any trackers but it sounds pretty cool – almost like Big Brother! π
I am SIMPLE so I keep it pretty lazy in terms of cooking. π

I’m a huge meal planner! Sounds like a fun app.

Sue @ This Mama Runs for Cupcakes says
This sounds really cool, but does it only work with a crock pot and vitamix?

I am pretty good at planning my own meals, but this looks great for someone who needs help1

I am so excited about this! I love gadgets, especially when they talk to my other gadgets… plus that egg avocado toast picture has me drooling! π
Mary Beth Jackson says
I am not so good at the meal planning either and I don’t grocery shop. My hubby does that and he buys a lot of stuff that is on sale or BOGO- I have to be super organized and quick to get stuff on his list or I am forced to stop and get it myself. Dinner planning resembles the show- Chopped, I open the frig and see what 4 mystery ingredients are waiting for me and BAM I am off and running! π
Laura@ Fit Running Mama says
Soo cool and I have the UP too!! AMAZING!!
Sharon says
Sounds like a cool gadget and that something I need. I’m horrible with meal planning! :p However, I do get a lot of my recipes from Pinterest! So many recipes though it can get overwhelming. I pin and pin but don’t end up making it.
Carilyn Johnson (@CarilynJohnson) says
That looks cool, Marcia! I’m amazed at all the neato gadgets out there to help people get stuff done. I’m okay with the meal stuff, but dang I wish someone would invent something to help me keep my stuff organized! agghh!
Dapinder says
I agree – would love to expand the number of recipes I can cook up! And the Orange Chef CounterTop would make that goal sooo much easier!
