How can August be little more than a week away? Sigh. You know what that means….no not time to go back-to-school shopping, time for another edition of Runfessions! Let’s get to it , shall we?
1. I’ve had this thing with not passing other (slower) runners lately. When I saw my neighbor up ahead I turned off so she’d get far enough ahead of me that I wouldn’t have to pass her and say hi. Granted, she is not the friendliest runner by far ( neither am I, I guess). But still. This happened again on my long run when a woman was alternating running with lively power walking that included lots of Rocky-style air punching. I turned off to put more distance between she and I as well. I guess I didn’t want her to feel embarrassed that I saw her doing her weird punching. Then when she ducked in the bushes for…well…we probably all know what…I raced past.
2. Shoes. I already told you that I have too many pairs of long-run shoes in the stockpile. Last week I did the unthinkable and let the cute lime green ones cut to the front of the line. I couldn’t resist. I am weak.
3. Then as if I wasn’t hording enough shoes, I went and bought these Asics Gel-Nimbus. When will it stop?
There, I feel better already. Now it’s your turn. Tell me your runfession in the comments or blog about and tag me so I’ll be sure to stop by.

I like running faster to pass people! Also the hoarding goes beyond shoes to workout clothes in general. I have enough and need to stop buying, but I’m always looking at new clothes! At least they all get lots of use!

I have those exact Asics gel nimbus waiting for me. Next week, they are coming out of the box for Zooma and marathon training. My first pair of bright shoes (I usually go for black). Because I’m doing all sorts of out of character things lately.

I run so slowly these days I never add the duration to Fitsnap.
Shoefession. I had brake work done on my car yesterday and it wasn’t as much as I expected so I stopped and bought the pair of Keens I wanted on the way home.

I always think it’s so funny when I see people doing weird arm movements when they run. I saw a guy the other day running and bobbing and weaving like he was boxing or something.

It makes my stomach turn that August is almost here. Summer is far, far too short.
I am a running shoeaholic, too. I swear I will never find that perfect pair and will try thousands in the meantime.
Sandy says
I like the road to myself. I honestly don’t like to be running close to anyone that I don’t know. I guess I kind of feel the pressure and I don’t want to pass them. I don’t mind if they pass me though.
Darlene says
I am a running shoeaholic too. Still looking for the perfect pair.
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
Add me to the shoeaholic club too! I’m always tempted to try something new in search of perfect match 🙂

If you’re going to have an addiction, I could think of worse ones than running shoes.
Robin (Masshole Mommy) says
I don’t think there is such a thing as too many shoes!
Angela says
Haha, yep also a shoeaholic. It’s a quest to find the perfect shoe that will give me perfect, injury-free form. btw, I bought three pairs of Nimbus last year. I loved them but apparently the higher drop caused me to over stride and heavy heel-strike. But that’s just me probably. I have since switched to lighter, flatter shoes.
My runfession is that if I have slowed to a walk going up a steep hill and I hear a car coming, I pick up the pace. Totally ridiculous because I’ve usually just run about 15 miles and because and I don’t even know the drivers.

I run the opposite direction of my running/walking neighbors. I just don’t want to deal with them. We recently had a women make herself the self-appointed “lead” of our subdivision committee. Which would be fine if any of us wanted one (and by that I mean a committee, we were fine without one). All she does is stir up sh$t and no one wants to talk to anyone else at all any more because of all the hate this woman is spreading. I noticed people don’t run early here so it gives me more incentive to do so. Thanks for letting me vent. LOL!
I want as many shoes as you! 🙂

I love my Asics Gel Nimbus – almost as much as all my Mizunos – it is a bit of a weakness!!!
Michelle @ A Dish of Daily Life says
I’m not ready for August because it means the summer is half over. It doesn’t bother me to pass people, but I don’t like being passed…it’s a reminder of how slow I am getting. haha. I need to get better about my training though…it’s my own fault. I ran a 7 mile road race this weekend and I am still sore two days later. If you never run fast in training, and then you actually try to run faster in a race, your body says “what’s all this about?” You’d think I would learn my lesson…
