Gas Explosion Update: I mentioned we live less than half a mile from a house that exploded due to a gas leak. Many of you asked about injuries. I am not terribly religious, but by the grace of God, there were no fatalities or serious injuries. Amazing. Besides the massive devastation to the homes surrounding the explosion, there are 25 homes in our neighborhood that sustained damage as well. Right now it looks like two of them will need to be demolished as they were blown off their foundations. A vivid reminder of how quickly life can change.
Speaking of friends: One of my oldest blogging buddies was in town the other day. It was so great to finally meet Amanda aka Miss Zippy. It was as if we’d known each other for years…well we have, we just hadn’t yet met in real life! Is it just me or is the best part of this blogging gig the people you meet along the way?
Flying Pig Weekend: I am feeling oddly calm about the 3-way challenge this weekend. My training has gone well, I’m thrilled with the way my body is handling (knock wood) the increased mileage and 5 runs/week. My coach has me focusing a ton on recovery and nutrition and it’s making a big difference. More on that to come. Rather than set time goals, I’m planning to have fun with the Pig, meet up with friends old and new, and enjoy the experience as much as possible.
Have you ever done a race series? Any tips? Did you enter my giveaway?

Hope you have a wonderful challenge weekend! Sounds like an awesome experience! I’m signed up for two challenges in 2015 (Dopey and deferred Glass Slipper Challenges at WDW). I look forward to hearing tips about what worked well for you and helped you in your training!

Yes, the best thing about blogging is meeting/seeing other bloggers ๐ and the free snacks ๐
Good luck this weekend! Believe it or not, I have never done a series race. I have made my own by running 2 races back to back in a weekend but never 3.

Kimberly @ Healthy Strides says
I’m so excited for you to do the Pig. I’m visiting my family that week, and I am sort of sad I’m not running! But, it’s too $$$ now for my local race entry blood.
Before you do it, I must share this: When you are on the toughest part of the 13.1 course and you think the hill will not end, look to your right and take in the scene of the city below. It is breathtaking. I think the course planner gifted runners with that!
