Mid April means it’s time for another edition of Currently. Let’s go.
Reading: Just wading through too many mags lately while I sit at track meets, the ice rink, pick up lines all that good stuff.
Running Path: I’ve returned to the trails for my short, easy runs. Although it really hasn’t greened up there like the pic yet, it’s nice to be back.
Non-Running Workout: I’m planking daily again so let’s say April is all about corework.
Drink:Β Blame it on spring break and last weekend’s road trip, but I seem to have gotten sucked into Starbuck’s loyalty program. 8 more stars til gold.
Excitement: Excited for everyone running Boston this year, even though I’m feeling ‘tender’ emotionally, a year later. Also excited for everyone accepted by the Chicago Marathon lottery!
Garden Item: Since the weather here isn’t remotely suitable for starting seeds, I’ve got mine on indoor warming mats.
TV: I was watching Dancing with the Stars but I’ve missed so many episodes, I can’t really say I’m watching anything.
Not-So-Healthy-Indulgence: Chicago Mix (caramel and cheese) popcorn. So good but so gross when I eat to much, which is often. Thankfully the bag has been exhausted. Add this to the list of things I will no longer bring home.
Healthy Indulgence: I am all about veggies and hummus. But after reading the labels, I’ve come to realize that the hummus I’d been buying contains soy oil. So finally I made my own. Super easy. A little bland until I inadvertently spilled way too much cumin in it. I spiff it up by topping it with roasted pine nuts, red peppers, or slivered almonds, depending on my mood. Say the word if you want a recipe.
Pet Peeve: This one goes to the parents who park in the school drop-off line, cut to the front of said line, and form their own second or third line, leaving their kids to cut between the vehicular chaos. Seriously you don’t have 30 seconds to drive through the line correctly like the rest of us?
Mood: Determined. I’m still on a productivity jag, checking things off my to-do list. Gosh I hope this becomes a habit!
What is current for you? Are you a Starbucks fan? What do you order?
Tink says
You have to post that hummus recipe!
Kovas - Midwest Multisport Life says
I will only get the soy milk at Strabucks, since it’s organic – I’m trying to cut down (and then out) GMOs

Love the pic of the trail. Makes me want to give trail running a try one day!

LOL, I don’t like Starbucks. I am a Dunkin Donuts girl and we are heading to So Cal on Friday and all they have out there are Starbucks, so I am going to have to suffer…I mean suck it up for a week.
lindsay says
It feels so elite to have a gold card! … lol yeah right. I like how the “selling point” is “special recognition” when you order! Gee, thanks! Dunkin Donuts never gets my order right (or timely) so I dislike the DD.
Those popcorns are sooooo good. Dang it Costco and your 12 gallon bag!!!
Jill says
Oh car pool lines….I always swore I’d write a book – and it’d be thicker than War and Peace – when my kids graduated about all the horror stories of car pool line days.
Miss you!

If you are going for finest contents like me,
only go to see this site all the time because
it gives feature contents, thanks
Carly @ Fine Fit Day says
Please post your hummus recipe! π I have loyalty cards for all the coffee shops in my neighborhood. I have 5 going at any one time. The best is when I have stamps on all of them at once and I get basically a week of coffee free.

Isn’t it great to be back on the trails?! It makes me so happy π
Ha ha. Steven has to deal with a-holes when he picks me up from Metra and a few times I’ve said to him that I bet it’s even worse at schools!
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
Oh don’t get me started on the car pool line violators – such a simple procedure, why can’t parents just follow the rules?!
Please post your hummus recipe π

All talk is about Boston every where. My coach and a squad friend will be running it this year so there’s Boston marathon-related pictures popping up on my Facebook feed all the time. It’s exciting yet sombring all at the same time.
Kim says
Yes, I would love to see your humus recipe!! I made some for the first time last year and couldn’t believe I had been missing out for so long.
That pet peeve is one of my biggies, too – every single day there is almost a wreck because some yahoo thinks they are more important than anyone else – UGH!!!
Abby @ BackAtSquareZero says
I love counting Starbucks stars too:)
Wendy@Taking the Long Way Home says
I love getting a soy latte at Starbucks but I don’t go too often. I’m just too cheap, I guess..
I love your pet peeve because I live a block from the grade school and even tho my kids don’t go there anymore, I can’t handle driving by at drop off or pick up. Parents seem to lose all their driving skills when they’re near a school. Or maybe (more likely) they think their kid is more important than anyone else…
Kari @ Running Ricig says
I used to go to Starbucks all the time, but then I got cheap and started brewing at home. Now the thought of coffee makes me nauseous, so I haven’t had any in months.
Gigi says
I love me some Starbies π Awake Tea or a chocolate chai latte are my drinks for winter. Summer is the orange refresher or iced passion tea. I have had my gold card for 3 years now….i love it!! free drinks and coupons!!
GiGi Eats says
Mmmmm Hummus!!!!! I try not to eat it too much because I will wind up eating ALL OF IT, but it’s so dang tasty!
Raina says
Starbucks has a loyalty program? I must investigate…
The trails are not green there yet? feel free to steal some of my pics π So glad your are doing some trail running! It’s great on the body and soul.
Kristin @SweatCourage says
I tried the ‘Chicago Mix’ popcorn when I was in Chicago for the Marathon this year… talk about addicting! I also ate too much and it gave me a stomach ache:) Look forward to reading your blog!

I LOVE coffee and starbucks. I go after flywheel in the mornings and every morning I’m on the road for work. I get the same thing every time. Grande, non fat, latte. I used to get the breakfast sandwich (egg white or turkey bacon one) but with my new clean eating its now blueberry oatmeal (no nuts or cranberries or agave) and 1 honey packet.
