Before we get to the wedding fun, here’s how training went last week:
Total Miles: 26
Monday: Yoga
Tuesday: 6 miles pace intervals
Wednesday: 4 mile run + Pear Sports 30 min Cardio Intervals
Thursday: Heavy weights and running drills
Friday: 6 miles hill workout
Saturday: Rest
Sunday: 10 miles
Everyday: Pushups and Corework
Thankfully this was a cutback week. One more heavy week, and I’ll be ready for some taper action for the Lincoln Presidential Half on 4/5. Overall I’ve really enjoyed the Race-Ready coaching plan. Its challenging. So much so that I doubt I am capable of some of the workouts. But somehow, I am managing. It is different than the plan I’d used repeatedly before. Shaking things up is good! I didn’t realize what a rut I’d been in.
In other, more fun news, the Caveman’s sister got married this weekend. She’s an attorney and law school professor who has been immersed in her career. She married a guy with pretty much the same credentials. A match made in heaven, I think. While it was a PIA to get all spiffed up, it was a lot of fun in the end. The J’Adore Box I received from Influenster recently contained some beauty items. No time like a rare night out to give those a try, right?
I enjoyed the ionic clay mask from Boots….always fun to look like the creature from the black lagoon and scare the kids. The Frizz-Ease Flat Iron Spray was a winner too, even though I did not flat-iron my hair. I just sprayed it on before blow drying and my hair was smoother/sleeker/more manageable. As for the false eyelashes, I went into this with an open mind. I have no experience with any eyelashes other than my own. I watched a YouTube video so I’d know how to apply them, and apply them I did. I’m sure they were fine, but I just felt weird. The kids laughed at me. The Caveman said I didn’t need them. I guess I’m not a false eyelash kind of girl because I peeled them off before even snapping a pic. No offense to Kiss, but they’re just not my thang. So there’s the ‘finished’ face and hair. Not terribly different from usual.
And no, my tolerance to alcohol hasn’t improved one bit. A single flute of champagne and I was reeling. Lightweight.
Wedding fun that lasted long into the night, a long ride home coupled with the time changed meant I was realllly dragging for my long run yesterday. Thankfully I had ‘only’ 10 miles. The run turned out better than expected. Mild 32 degree temps had much to do with that. Jacket free for the win. We’re starting to warm up, ever so slowly.
What was fun for you this weekend? Did you race? Have you ever worn false eyelashes?
misszippy1 says
I saw someone much younger with false eyelashes the other day and she wore them so well. I was thinking about how they’d look on me and decided…not good! Is it a generational thing?
Sounds like a fun weekend for you and yes to warmer temps!
Darlene says
Nope, never.
I did run 11 miles on Sunday but the highlight was my lunch & dinner out on Saturday.
Michelle @ Running with Attitude says
Looks like another great week for you! And huge kudos to you for doing your long run post-wedding!!
Jill says
I can’t even wear mascara!
Kimberly @ Healthy Strides says
Nice work on that plan! I did almost the same workouts, funny enough, and I continue to doubt whether I can bust out 4×1 intervals and like. Cheers to changing it up and surprising ourselves!
Our weekend was crazed with out of town family in. I also learned not to go to Costco after a long run.
Kari @ Running Ricig says
I can barely be bothered to put on any kind of makeup, so I definitely haven’t tried false eye lashes. They can look pretty impressive, though.
Robin (Masshole Mommy) says
I am a wicked lightweight, too – which is exactly why I don’t drink. Plus, who need the excess calories.
Marcia says
Robin I totally agree: I derive zero pleasure from alcohol. The calories are wasted on me.
Laura @ Mommy Run Fast says
That’s another really solid week of workouts, especially for a cut back week! Glad the wedding was fun. I’m the same way with alcohol, although of course not drinking now anyway!
Kim says
No falsies (of any sort!!) for me!! I do wish that my eyelashes curled though.
Sounds like the wedding was fun.
I will be in the lightweight category for drinking by Easter – sheesh it’s a long time away!!!
Andrea says
I’m so not a false eyelash person! You’re doing great with your training. I love that I am tapering now!
Jody - Fit at 56 says
What a wonderful weekend!!!! I love the face mask pic & you look beautiful after it!
I had a fun expowest show but now sick.. 🙁
Janice - The Fitness Cheerleader says
Wow great workout week! Good luck in your upcoming marathon!
Char says
Where’s the selfie of you all dressed up in your wedding finery? The mask pic was good but I’m sure you looked even better all spiffied up.
Wendy@Taking the Long Way Home says
I don’t think I could bear false eyelashes. Even too much mascara gets to me!
Katie says
The race I coordinate every year was this weekend. It was exhausting but I’m so glad I did it.
