The Elf4Health Challenge ended on Sunday. I can’t say enough about how meaningful this challenge was. Over the course of a month we were given daily challenges like eat the rainbow, clean out your pantry/closet/fridge, do 100 burpees, make a donation and operation beautiful to name just a few. I went in to it hoping to meet new people. What I didn’t expect was how much this group bonded and how the challenges snowballed into something bigger. It was so inspiring to see the creative ways the challenges were met. It has definitely made this holiday season a kinder, gentler one for me, because when you are doing good things, you notice good things all around you. Many thanks to Elle and Lindsay for putting this one together. It’s a challenge I highly recommend for next year.
Final week for One Small Change. Did this fly or what? How’s it going for you? For one last time here’s my play-by-play. Other than the lemon water, I’m happy to say all are going strong on most days.
- Keep kitchen counters clutter free
- Drink at least 64 oz water daily
- Do a 2 minute daily plank sequence
- Drink warm water with lemon every morning**
- Plan meals
- Get out for a 10-minute or longer decompression walk on non-running days
- Do at least 2 burpees daily
- Gratefulness
- Hold
- Pay-It-Forward
- Self-care: This was sort of so-so. I did a couple of things (big ones like sign up for swim lessons and schedule a massage). But my hair did not get cut, mammogram not scheduled. Definitely did not hit this one out of the park but it’s an especially hard time of year.
- For the final week of One Small Change I’m going to focus on relaxation and happiness. I am not going to hold myself to a rigid exercise or blogging schedule (not saying those will not happen, just no pressure to do so). Tonight is our extended family gets together–this year sadly there is potential for more petty drama than ever. Coming off of Elf4Health and One Small Change, my head is in a positive place and I am as prepared as I’ve ever been to breathe, let negativity roll off and enjoy.
I wish the same for you! Blog about one small change you made this week and/or are planning to make going forward and link it up below. Even though it’s the final week, it is never too late to make One Small Change!
