Has this been the longest week ever? It sure seems like it to me after waiting, pacing, calling and waiting some more for the results from my nuclear stress test as well as the labs I did last week. Why, why, why aren’t doctor’s offices more sensitive to the stress one goes through when waiting on stuff like this?
So, ok I won’t keep YOU waiting any longer. Haha! Heart is….
NORMAL!
Of course there’s so much more info. I wanted than just that. Normal, as in exactly how much plaque build up there may be and where? If my heart’s so ‘normal’ why did I fail an EKG and a holter monitor? The list goes on. That is a discussion that will happen with my doc soon, but for now, it looks like I’m managing to out-run my family history of heart disease.
It’s not all footloose and fancy free from here: my thyroid, while moving in the right direction, is still off, testosterone and Vitamin D are low and cortisol is low. But taking a heart issue out of the equation is HUUUUUGE! So today I’m celebrating. And this weekend, I’m RACING! Yes, it’ll be a shitty, untrained effort but I don’t care. I miss being out there and I’ve come to miss training too. Wait, did I just say I miss training?
There will be diet and lifestyle tweaks, but I am looking forward to ramping up slowly and cruising into next year and, at last, NYCM 2014! Thanks for all the good wishes and shared stories about your experiences with heart issues. They are so much appreciated!

Interesting to hear that your testosterone is low too. That probably is contributing to the fatigue issues that you’ve had. Did they suggest supplementation?
