Many of you have asked me for tips on how I’m healing my torn rotator cuff. Here’s what I’m doing:
- Heat/Ice/Compression
- Electrical Stim
- REST. I laid off strength training that irritated my shoulder and did minimal running for 3 weeks
- Strengthening exercises
- Krill Oil. Know how I always say the universe gives you exactly what you need when you need it? That’s how I feel about this Krill Oil. Everest Nutrition asked me to try out their Krill Oil right before the whole shoulder fiasco. I’m already a fish oil guppy I mean groupie, so try it I did.
According to Everest Nutrition:
Krill Oil is harvested from Antarctic krill, a shrimp-like ocean crustacean. Ingesting this oil can have amazing affects on your body, including:
- Stronger heart
- Pain-free joints
- Enhanced mood
- Lower cholesterol
- Easier menstruation
- Less inflammation
- Improved brain function and and overall better health
Instantly I was wary of any fish odor, burps, etc. Instead of softgels, Everest Krill comes in Caplique form for freshness and to eliminate the odors/taste, etc. Mission accomplished. Even whiffing the open bottle was odor-free. I take 2 capsules with a meal daily. It may be too soon to tell after a single bottle of Krill Oil, and certainly I’ve been doing other things to expedite healing, but my shoulder is pain-free and the rest of my tired joints are feeling pretty darn good too.

Ooooh. I want to try krill oil!
My main pain problem is my left knee. I take a glucosamine/condroitant supplement, a calcium fructoborate supplement, and a collegen type ii supplement —- all aimed at helping my knee.

I stay pain and injury free by stretching after every workout and also by using my foam roller and visiting my chiropractor on a regular basis.

I don’t do much to stay pain or injury free except to make sure I take rest days and listen to my body. I actually recently starting taking Krill Oil as well.

Id love to try some krill oil. When I wake up my wrists, shoulders and ankles have audible popping/clicking noises. It doesn’t hurt but the sound is annoying.
Carli says
Hmm…how I stay pain and injury free. Hard to say while my muscles are aching today. But I listen to my body. If I push too hard one day then I don’t push as hard the next to make sure I’m not going overboard. However, it is hard to do when you have a goal in mind and you’re trying to achieve it.
