This past weekend was the Chicago Running Bloggers holiday meetup. Who knew there were so many bloggers in Chi-town? Not I.
We went for a 3 mile run in the wind and rain, then came back to Erin’s place for food and festivities.
Wow runners sure can cook. And eat!
There was a ‘most festively dressed’ contest.
I was thrilled to come away with a yoga towel at the yankee gift swap. Cannot wait to try it out! The party was so much fun and let’s just say I’ve got lots of new blogs to read. Thanks to Erin and Kim for hosting!

Yesterday was my birthday. I thought I was meeting the Caveman for lunch. But it was an ambush. My entire family was there. Not sure how he pulled that off in the middle of the day but it sure was fun to see everyone. Maybe most importantly, there was cake.
The celebration went into the night with dinner out with the kids and more cake.
Finally the cake drought is over!
Thanks to everyone for celebrating with me. I may still be waiting for that horse, but this old woman and an ass card more than made up for it!
Kitsch Hair Ties Winner!
