Many thanks to Laura at Mommy Run Fast for awarding me this esteemed honor!
Here we go, first the rules:
1) Post the award logo and picture on your blog and link back to the person who nominated you.
2) Tell seven things about yourself.
3) Nominate up to 15 additional bloggers whom you think deserve the award.
4) Post a comment on the blog of each nominee to tell them they have been nominated!
My 7 things:
1. I’m a morning person, always have been.
2. It’s funny how life comes full circle. I was a figure skater, on the ice by 5am most days growing up. Now I’m a coach on the ice by 5am again. And if not, I’m out running. On the flipside I’m in bed by 9:30 but that’s ok.
3. I still want a horse.
4. I think everyone should live in a foreign country for awhile. We moved to the UK 6 weeks after we got married. What a fun experience.
5. I’m wearing my new bikini right now to blog. Ok no I’m not. But if it weren’t rainy and 46 degrees…
6. I’m a creative type who would much rather write fiction, paint and daydream all day. I got an MBA because it’s way out of my comfort zone. Accounting, finance, statistics and all that voodoo business stuff like balance sheets and return on investment terrified me. Not. Any. More.
7. I also think I’m a waaay better weight lifter than I am a distance runner. I entertain the prospect of going back to strength training as my main focus but can’t seem to get the running bug out of my system.
And finally, my picks for this Lovely award:
Gone For a Run giveaway ends tonight! Are you in?
Kari @ Running Ricig says
I’m neither a morning person nor a night person. I’m in bed by 9:30pm and wake up at 7am and it’s always a struggle. It’s pathetic.
I lived abroad for a semester in college and it was amazing. I would totally do it again, though I don’t know how Bungee would fare on an international flight. We might have to go by boat.

Well deserved! I totally was excited when you said you were wearing your bikini and your decision to rock it. Is it really that cold where you are?? I love that figure skating came full circle for you – what a great thing to share with the little ones.

Thanks for picking me! I didn’t know you were a figure skater, so cool. I remember going ice skating a few times when I was a kid because I had a friend who competed. I spent much of the time falling on my knees:0

Very fun facts!!!
Kovas says
You need to create a new sport, like biathlon, but with running and weight lifting instead of skiing and shooting!
Jamie @ couchtoironwoman says
Thanks for nominating me! Another blogger did too, I will most likely get to this next week since our triathlon is coming up this weekend π
I love all the facts about yourself!
Carilyn Johnson (@CarilynJohnson) says
So cool! I love all the “little known facts”. I think a whole blog category about it would be great – those are the fun things about people. I have several “serious” running friends who took up body building while competing and it was amazing to watch them transform and not lose a second in their running.

Allan lived in Spain for two years and I think he’d love to live there again. I always wanted a horse growing up but my parents never let me have one. I just found out last month that my Dad had a horse growing up that he kept at his uncle’s farm. The things parents leave out!

Oh…thanks for the tag, you KNOW how much I love these things!!! π
I’m toying with the idea of dropping the running gig for a few months and crossfitting myself to death, just to get back the body I so long for and can’t seem to get running. The gym and I are not good friends, however…but I’m tempted to give it a shot. The 2 boot camp classes I go to weekly are kicking my sorry butt…I think about 5 more/week may help. Anyway, that has nothing to do with your post other than your last item piqued my interest again.
Last time I was on a horse was in 1985 (why yes, I was alive then) when I was in geology field camp. I love people who are horse lovers, I just could never seem to get there.
Let’s go to Mexico next year. Not the same as “living” there, but it’s away and the girls need a non-running vacation! Wonder if Mexico has any road races. π

Thank you, Marcia!
I literally have to go to work in 12 minutes so I will make sure to post my 7 things tomorrow and give you the props you deserve for your awesome blog π

You are quick! Great tidbits… how long did you live in the UK? And I didn’t know about you and the weight training… that’s a great base for running, but I understand that it’s hard to do both well simultaneously.
Char says
It’s just as well you’re a morning person or those 5am starts could have been ugly. I still am not great at mornings but I do it because it’s the best time of the day to run.
sara@domesticallychallenged says
Well, i still like you, even if you ARE a morning person…
And? I am a good weight lifting person too, but love running! Funny how that works!
andrea says
I am such a morning person! And I love getting in bed by 9:30.
Congrats on the award!
Tink says
That’s awesome that you lived in the UK, but wow, that must have been a hard adjustment to add on to getting used to being married!
marlene says
Fun list! I can’t imagine moving to a different country. I have lived within a ~5 mile radius my entire life!

I am really impressed with your writing skills as well as with the layout on your weblog. Is this a paid theme or did you customize it yourself? Anyway keep up the nice quality writing, itβs rare to see a great blog like this one today..
