I ran a dozen miles on Easter Sunday, fueled by PB m&ms and jelly beans. Not having the Garmin makes me want to take walk breaks. No bueno.
The Caveman spent the weekend in his sports throne, deeply immersed in Masters golf coverage.
Still mixer less. Although I probably didn’t use my KitchenAid more than a few times a month, now that I’m without, I can think of a million things I want to make. I haven’t done away with the dead remains yet either. It’s just sort of sitting there while I grieve.
The kids had a ball with their baskets and the egg hunt. Thing 1 is clearly past the age for this stuff but goes with the program…barely. This was taken before she realized the bunny brought her nail polish and goodies from Abercrombie & Fitch. Such a cool bunny…
Our dogs enjoyed some Easter fun as well…especially the Peeps. Here’s Remy pretending he didn’t just eat 3 of them.
I had three glasses ย of red wine, not all on the same day though. A lot for this lightweight. See below.
Last but not least, I survived my mother in law. Can I get a boom shakalaka?
What was the highlight of your holiday weekend?

I had an awesome weekend, although it has left me with a little bit of a sugar hangover! I didn’t get any peeps though!

I wish the Easter Bunny still came to my house!

Congrats on surviving the MIL! She really does have a sourpuss look on her face before abercrombie came in the picture!
Keep a look out on Amazon for deals on the mixer. I was able to get a kitchenaid for $99 a few years back that way!

Surviving the MIL is KEY! Nice work.
Did your pup go crazy after having that much sugar? Bungee would go insane.
I had a glass of wine at dinner last night and almost had to make Mike drive us home. Lightweights unite!

Boom shakalakalaka BOOM! My MIL reads my blog so I can only speak nicely – let’s just say that I ran my fastest 3 miles ever the day before we left MI – ROAR!!!! I need to bring her along on my next 5K – I excel at running fast and furious!! ๐

I had to laugh at the look on your older child’s face. My 13-year old son wasn’t really into it this year either, although I did manage to get him to hop like a bunny in order to get his basket! (He made me pinkie-swear that I wouldn’t post the footage on my blog!).
Best part of my weekend? Having Sunday off teaching group fitness!
K says
I did a long run on Saturday and then went skiing the next day. While all you Midwesterners are relishing in the novelty of pretty blooming flowers and whatnot, I’m out playing in the fun snow just inland from here. Crazy how we find enjoyment in such different things given how often we are exposed to them.
And I don’t blame Remy, those peeps are yummy. About the only Easter candy I enjoy. ๐

Ha ha. You definitely get a boom shakalaka!!! ๐ I love the look on Thing 1’s face!
My fave part of the weekend was being at home relaxing ๐

Love all the pics. That dog pic is so hilarious! What a great Easter bunny you have:) So glad you were able to survive the MIL. Does she read your blog?:)

I just laughed at your comment on Laura’s blog about your miracle. Some day you need to let us know just how bad your MIL is. I have a feeling it would be hilarious reading.

I didn’t even last 24 hours before I’d replaced my mixer. And I’m like you – don’t use it more than four times a month (every weekend). But I just couldn’t imagine life without it. I hope you can replace yours soon.
Meghan Rene says
Looks like you had a nice Easter – with loved ones!! I love the sneaky dog pic. Peeps are the beeest.
I found the $50 egg! Woohoo! Highlight for me!

Congrats on surviving the MIL and the teenager with ‘tude! I am totally in sugar detox after this weekend.

Congrats on the mother in law survival, I know that wasn’t an easy task! Can’t believe you didn’t drink 3 bottles of wine while she was visiting. ๐
I didn’t even put my kids’ Easter garb in baskets this year, I just loaded them in where I bought them a gift (REI for Brendan, etc.). I’m such a great Easter bunny, huh?
Hey, did you see the Carlsbad Marathon has a new finishers jacket for next year’s race? I’m thinking road trip!!!!!

Big yay for surviving the MIL! I survived mine too ๐ But the highlight of my weekend was running with both my boys on Saturday at the end of my long run – priceless!

Too funny what dogs will eat – marshmallows? ๐ My kids told me no more candy – just money. Sigh. Glad you made it through the weekend ๐

The first thing that jumps out at me is cheering for you for surviving your MIL! Because I CAN relate to that for sure.
Glad it’s all over!

I LOL’d after reading the part where you survived your MIL. Besides that, it amazes me that you were able to run without your Garmins. I just shows how dedicated you are; in my case, I would have cheated. Oops! That should’ve been a secret.
Will keep reading your posts because it surely helps me to become a better runner! I had fun last Easter, too!

The highlight of my week end was Eastern Monday (in Italy is holiday) without my mother in law!!!! And, as you, I survived her on Easter.
Tracy says
Joining the ranks of MIL survivors!
And Thing 1’s face is priceless…though I have to admit that is what my face looked like at age 20 when my mom did *not* make me an Easter basket for the first time ever. I was shocked that she had decided I was too old for the bunny to shower me with candy and gifts! lol!
tricia says
Your pup is super cute!
lindsay says
LOL at thing 1’s face. why wouldn’t you be excited about candy and random goodies?!? kids these days… ๐
Coy says
You better believe that I have one that just goes with it too! Although, she soon realized that going with it means getting things! When she wanted to poo poo on Santa she realized that that could possibly mean getting less from Santa!
I missed the bra giveaway! I want one of those!
RUNwJESS says
I think I’ve been running on jelly beans for a month now.

i think that I missed that the mixer died! i love mine!! iโm eating lots of mini eggs. not healthy at all. i guess my highlight was meeting the bfโs family for the first time this weekend. big step ๐

Congrats on surviving the MIL! I returned home from vacation to my FIL and his wife staying at our house then a houseful of in laws Sunday. I had an impromptu brick workout Easter afternoon :-).
