Week 11 of marathon training is complete: 54 miles.
Monday: Yoga at the uber gym. I’ve been a member all summer and it’s taken me this long to get up the nerve to venture into the yoga studio.
Tuesday: 7 miles total. Speedwork: 1000m, 2000m, 1000m, 1000m. Ouch. Corework
Wednesday: Yoga, lower body weights, corework
Thursday: 6 miles with 5 at tempo pace. Soooo hot. First 4 miles were good but I fell apart after that.
Friday: Yoga, upper body weights, corework
Saturday: 21 mile run!
Sunday: 20 mile bike, corework
Notes: Did you notice all the yoga this week? I’ve been neglecting it horrendously until now. Amazing how much it makes even my skin hurt.
Running-wise I think I’m finally progressing. Whether that progress will be enough to run a decent marathon in just over a month remains to be seen.
I’ve been religious about the corework. I’m on the Jamoosh plan, plus I get jiggy with the resistance bands to build some hip strength. Have you entered to win a set of your own? Time is running out!
Thanks to Runningfromthelaw I received this esteemed award.
When the high school track coach sent me a note/came knocking on my homeroom door/called me at home begging me to join the track team after he saw my 50m and 100m dash times from gym class, I should have put my dance aspirations aside and done it. I knew from an early age that I was a runner at heart but I didn’t really ‘get into it’ until much later in life.
Have a great Labor Day!
What are you doing for fun?
