Week 4!?! of Chicago Marathon training is complete: 47 miles
Here’s how it went:
Monday: SRD
Tuesday: 7 miles. Speedwork, 5x1000m. Craptastic as I was glycogen depleted due to overzealous but very necessary food restriction.
Wednesday: Crossfit class. This will get easier. Some day. It has to.
Thursday: 6 mile tempo run. Got caught in the rain so 3 were outside, 3 miles on the mill. This was a struggle as well as I am still trying to adjust to not eating as much. More on the diet strategy soon.
Friday: SRD. Took an extra rest day because I knew the weekend would be tough and I grew more and more tired as the week went on.
Saturday: 17 miles. I was so proud of myself for being up and out there before 5am. I got in about 7 miles before the sun became an issue. Have I mentioned how darn hot it is? The last 3 or 4 miles were ridiculously slow. Why do I do this again?
Sunday: A bit of a brick: 7 miles bike, 5k race, 7 miles bike. Corework.
