This week’s product review features Cheribundi Cherry Juice
After I’ve raced or done a long run, besides flopping down on the couch in exhaustion, I like to heavy-up on the antioxidants to fight off those nasty free radicals that swirl around the system.
Just hours into my marathon recovery, what do I find on my doorstep? A case of cherry juice from Cheribundi!
My first thought was “oooh antioxidants!” (I know, I’m weird) but my second was “but cherries are loaded with sugar”.
So I was pleasantly surprised to find 3 different versions of cherry juice in my sampler box:
Tru Cherry: The juice of 50 cherries packed in each cute 8 oz. bottle.
Skinny Cherry: Sweetened with Stevia no less, I am this product’s newest groupie
and just when you thought it couldn’t get any better:
Whey Cherry: That’s right folks they packed protein right into the juice so you’ve got antioxidants and protein for optimal recovery! Do I hear angels singing?
I chugged the Whey Cherry immediately following last week’s hot tempo run and found it light, not-too-sweet, and very refreshing.
I splashed the Tru Cherry in my morning shake and even used it in a marinade
I enjoyed the Skinny Cherry on it’s own
They were all delicious and honestly I am very impressed with all of these products.

Are they the sour cherries? I read recently (Runner's World?) that kind was really good for muscle recovery!

I've heard that cherries and cherry juice is great for recovery! I eat dried cherries all of the time in my cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, for snacks, etc. But, I have yet to try cherry juice. I may have to check it out!

Those sound good. I will have to look for them at the grocery store.

Sounds pretty good. Are specifically designed as a sport drink? Or just a great-tasting juice. Personally, I make my own natural sports drink made of water, maple syrup, lemon and lime juice, and a touch of salt.

runs in the fam: yes they're made from sour cherries.
Yuri: Not specifically a sports drink I don't think but certainly a refreshing post-workout drink.

Thank GAWD you did a review of this, I'm just going to cut and paste for my blog so I don't have to do any writing for my review. Thanks, Marcia!! Maybe I WILL reserve that O2 tank for you afterall….hum….

I've bought Stevia but hadn't done anything with it yet. I need to figure out how to substitute it for sugar in my baking.
