Welcome new A-listers! It’s great to have you here!
Wow humpday already and I still haven’t shared a workout summary from last week. What is this blog coming to? I’m still running (a little) without a plan. I’m trying to relax and enjoy it since marathon training will be upon me again soon. Here’s how the week went.
Total Miles: 14
Monday: Yoga
Tuesday: 4 miles. Treadmill speedwork, corework
Wednesday: Weights, corework
Thursday: Ran 2 miles + Plyometric Intervals. I did this workout religiously through my first 2 marathon training cycles but had fallen off the wagon since. I warm up then walk or run on increasing incline up to 10 for 2 minutes then hop off and do plyometric exercises for 2 minutes.
Friday: Ran 5 miles. Definitely felt tired after yesterday’s plyo intervals.
Saturday: Yoga
Sunday: 5k race, corework
Tough Love
I’m sad to say it but I think I’m gonna have to draw a hard line in the cocoa and stop dragging all things covered in dark chocolate home from Trader Joe’s every week. Oh how I love me some almonds, cranberries, raisins, you name it if it’s bathed in chocolate I love it. And how I fail to control myself and eat with wild abandon. So my goal this week is to buy none of it and break this nasty habit once and for all. Wish me luck!

What is this blog coming to? hmmmm…. I ask that of mine too as I haven't posted anything in a while at all. Thanks for sharing the workout week. I need to add core workout in mine. As far as a downfall snack food. I love trail mix. I look for the m&ms and chocolate peanut butter chips first. The problem?……..I find myself tearing up the whole bag.

I am a dark choclate freakazoid! I typically set out my three pieces and that's all I get for the day.

Oh, the dark chocolate covered almonds are my biggest downfall. I seriously cannot bring them home anymore! Speaking of food–I made your fried rice recipe last night. Loved it and so did the kids. And so easy to make. Thank you!
Megan says
Cookies and Reese's peanut butter eggs. It's the hardest thing for me to resist
marathonmaiden says
i love that you titled the post "non-training recap"…don't really know why but i do ๐ lately clif bars have been hard to resist! i have one and all of a sudden i want to eat my whole stash!
Staci Dombroski says
I love popsicles!!! They are a huge downfall for me! Especially, when it gets hot ๐ Have a great day!
Marlene says
YUM, I love chocolate-covered ANYTHING. Huge weakness but I have restrained from "treats" for three weeks now in preparation for race day. Guess what I'll be eating on Sundat afternoon????!!! (Whatever junk food I can get my hands on, hehehe)

I don't think you want me to take up too much room for all the downfall snacks i have. But my top 3 are my kid's goldfish, my kids' pastry type pop tarts, any sort of tortilla chip, and ice cream.
and i love your lil' preschool countdown banner. that is TOO cute!

I'm thinking of giving up sugar and moving onto alcohol. ๐
Carly says
Chocolate, cookies, ice cream…basically anything that is bad for me is my downfall. ๐
Great week, by the way.
Karen says
Good luck with the TJ temptation! For me, it is ice cream. I am better off just staying away from that aisle in the store. It is a sickness ๐

My problem is I love food. Any kind, really. Some days it is sweets. Some days it is hearty food. Some days it is whatever I get my hands on. It would be easier if I had a craving for one thing, then I could work on limiting that food but I just try to allow everything in moderation. (some days the problem is forgetting the definition of that word!!)
Emz says
NO!! You can't do that to JOE!! {trader} not you !! Mr. Joe.
but it's DARK CHOC! It's healthy!
Molly says
holy cow, I bought raisinettes the other day, and just ate some. I forgot how freakin good those things are. Usually chocolate chip cookies do me in, but this week it's the raisins.
Laura says
I have a total sweet tooth too! Or salty nuts, or crisps… I like to snack ha ha
Dash says
I have recently fallen in love with the chocolate covered Macadamian nuts! yummy! But I ussually eat the 100 calorie pack of keebler mini fudge stribes every night after dinner, it tricks me into thinking I've been bad. ๐
Char says
Good luck with the no chocolate thing. It's going to be hard – REALLY hard. (I love chocolate too)
ajh says
Chocolate. Then some more chocolate.
Heather says
Dark chocolate covered almonds are the best. food. ever.
Bethany + Ryan says
i never had a downfall snack food until recently when ryan started buying chips! all-natural chips of course, lol but still not healthy! i find myself taking a hand full everyday or so. i need to encourage him to buy a flavor i don't like ๐ lucky for me, i don't like chocolate!

Hi Marcia,
I am so tempted to try plyometrics…they have classes at our club. My daughter and I were thinking about sucking it up and seeing if we could survive a class or two:) Nice work this week!
Chocolate is my weakness too!
Cynthia O'H says
I have two downfalls: one is chocolate; the other salty snack mixes. My absolute favorite is Gardetto's but we can't get them in Canada so I have to beg someone to bring back a bag for me if they head south of the border.
Michelle says
My downfall is baked goods – muffins, cookies, etc. I do not buy them or bake anymore.
The plyometrics sound interesting. Might have to try.
Geri says
I have always envied people who say, "I just eat one small piece of chocolate a day and that is all I need." That will never be me! I do better with complete withdrawal. One small piece only leads to another, and another, and …
Yesterday during a particularly stressful meeting, I hit the Snickerdoodles. Didn't make the meeting easier, didn't make me feel better; today I'm off sweets completely.
