There was no long run for me yesterday. Not on the roads, not in the pool, not even a cycling class. I swapped my usual pre-long run Sunday coffee for green tea and honey. And while not being able to get out there felt like a knife in my heart, a part of me secretly savored the aspect of spending as much time as I pleased with the Sunday paper.
I am still so darn sick. This truly is the first time in forever that I haven’t at least gotten to the gym on a Sunday. My fever is simmering instead of raging but I’m still achy and I swear I pulled something in my back from the incessant hacking. And the clock to Boston waits for noone. Ok enough whining.
Since I have nowhere to go I thought maybe now would be a good time to share with you how I crawled out of the ditch of despair I’d fallen into, became a runner and dropped 50 pounds. But actually I’m afraid if I wrote it now, it would be the meds talking so probably not a good idea. One of these days…
Training Recap: Swimsuit Edition
Monday: USRD Thing 2 home sick
Tuesday: Kettleworx DVDs: Cardio, Fast Abs, Core, Thing 2 home sick
Wednesday: SRD Thing 2 home sick
Thursday: Kettleworx DVDs: Cardio, Legs, Hips, Thing 2 home sick
Friday: Ladder in the pool, 1600m, 3200, 2x800m Thing 2 finally better but I got sick
Saturday: USRD sick
Sunday: USRD sick
Notes: Sorry not much of a swimsuit edition but that pool ladder was hard. And the lifeguard jumped in and rescued someone in the next lane, how’s that for exciting? He was a very old man doing some sort of rehab therapy but still I felt the slightest bit of ‘brotherhood’ with him after the Disney water park tidbit I mentioned in my last post.
Anyway, onward! It’s a new month, I am channeling every confidence my achilles is strong and ready to run this week, and I’m gonna tear it up (carefully) out there and regain some ground!

Okay, girl, it is time you got a break, this is getting ridiculous and we need you running!!! I'm not sure what a Sunday paper is but I am truly glad you took pleasure in something so you didn't go stir-crazy. I know how that dumb old cold thing wants to stick around, but hang in there cuz it sounds like he's getting a little tired of hanging around. I'm just excited it's no longer February, that was not a good month for me so glad to rip that month off my calendar. I'm just taking re-entry back one day at a time. Hope you're feeling better soon, chica!! I'm rooting for you big time!

Sorry you are still feeling sick. I will pray that you feel better soon and are up and at em. March means a new outlook on my running and over all goals. I do this in March since the weather starts to get better. Jan and Feb don't count. lol. Plus being back off vacation helped me re-establish my running goals. Great post.
