After laying eyes on a dismal weekend forecast, I pushed the envelope and attempted to sneak my 20-miler in yesterday while Thing 2 was at preschool. It was WARM and SUNNY to the point that I’m now sporting a sock tan line!
I felt great thru 10 miles, and my pace was better than last weekend’s 15 (thank you interval session!). By 14 I was fading, (my endurance still leaves much to be desired), too hot and my window of opportunity was rapidly closing. I HAD to make it back in time for preschool pickup. I ended up squeaking out 16 miles. After retrieving Thing 2, I borrowed a page from Shelly’s playbook and turned to Plan B: a second run, the remaining 4 miles, this time with jog stroller in tow (to think I came so close to selling my trusty BOB. The horror.)
Boston or Bust
It was a little raggedy and disjointed, but 20 miles are done and the ornery achilles behaved beautifully!
Sheesh that may be the most ginormous calf I’ve ever seen.
I felt pretty darn happy when I woke to blowing snow this morning. It continued all day and the nasty wind would have been preposterously hard to run through. Thanks to yesterday’s 20, IT’S A REST DAY!
200 A-Listers Oh My!
Thank you all for joining me!
Thanks so much to those of you who’ve donated to
The Lupus Foundation. You are awesome!
HAPPY SPRING!
Wow! It's a good thing you got it in yesterday! And here I was hoping winter was over – you are west of us here in Ohio I think, I wonder if we are getting it next!
I'm glad you got your run done before the snow!! Good job pushing through. π
I'm tired just lookin' at ya in the picture!!;-)
and super congrats on 200! now that's fun
great job on the 20. glad the achilles stayed in line for you.
There seems to be season confusion where you are. Hot enought to get a tan one day then snowing the next. Must make it hard to plan your wardrobe.
I am so happy you got that run in BEFORE today's nasty weather!
Good job on getting in the whole 20 miles!! You are amazing!!
Wow! Look at that snow. I had my snow tires taken off yesterday! Let's hope it doesn't come here. Good job on the 20 miles! Love the couch pic!
yes…absoulutely GINORMOUS calf! Nice job on your 20 and plan B. I am so excited to get up to that mileage in the coming months. Sooo crazy!
Congrats of doing your 20 miler! I woke up to a lot of snow today too, so my long run was postponed. Tomorrow it's supposed to be back in the upper 50s, so hopefully I'll get it in then!
Have a good rest day tomorrow! π
Good thing you got that long run done before the snow came! Nice job.
Determination does pay off. Good job.
The snow is suppose to be coming our way tomorrow – just in time for my long run…
Hi Marcia,
Woo hoo to your twenty miles:) I love the picture of you sprawled out on your sofa totally spent!! You deserve to rest after that killer run! Bummer about the snow…hopefully it will melt soon!
29 days until Boston. I can't wait. Congrats on the 20 miler – DONE!
Wow, that is something! And please, please, keep the snow! We can't deal with anymore!
Yeah! Double runs help get it done! I do them all summer long and feel so much better for it.
Great great job on 20 miles. (and you haven't seen big calves until you see mine!)
You are so fun to follow, of course you have 200! Congrats! …sorry to hear about your snow. I don't want any more of that!
Congrats on the 20 miles! Glad your achilles is behaving π

Great job! I've never broken up a 20 that way; I would think it would be mentally tough to get out there that second time. One in the bank, though, right?
Way to get the 20 miles in, you rock!!! Glad your achilles was feeling better too.
gahh i am tired just reading that!!!! glad the achilles behaved!!! mine has been giving me so much trouble. ice ice iceee..
Today, I feel like you look on that couch, TIRED! Great job getting the full 20 done and with a stroller! You just don't give up. Good for you! I can't believe the snow! I hope the weather improves for you this week. Have a good one!

Muscular calves are sexy!
Way to get those 20 miles done!!
So happy to see you running comfortably again, yay for your 20!!! π My calves look the same π
Go, go, go! Awesome!
And, just, WOW, on all that snow. Sheesh!
I am waaaaay behind in blogland and have so missed your posts….
20 miles is 20 miles, it doesn't matter how you get it done as long as you get it done! That's what the cross country coach always tells me! You are coming back so strong….so very happy for you!!!!! π
