After laying eyes on a dismal weekend forecast, I pushed the envelope and attempted to sneak my 20-miler in yesterday while Thing 2 was at preschool. It was WARM and SUNNY to the point that I’m now sporting a sock tan line!
I felt great thru 10 miles, and my pace was better than last weekend’s 15 (thank you interval session!). By 14 I was fading, (my endurance still leaves much to be desired), too hot and my window of opportunity was rapidly closing. I HAD to make it back in time for preschool pickup. I ended up squeaking out 16 miles. After retrieving Thing 2, I borrowed a page from Shelly’s playbook and turned to Plan B: a second run, the remaining 4 miles, this time with jog stroller in tow (to think I came so close to selling my trusty BOB. The horror.)
Boston or Bust
It was a little raggedy and disjointed, but 20 miles are done and the ornery achilles behaved beautifully!
Sheesh that may be the most ginormous calf I’ve ever seen.
I felt pretty darn happy when I woke to blowing snow this morning. It continued all day and the nasty wind would have been preposterously hard to run through. Thanks to yesterday’s 20, IT’S A REST DAY!
200 A-Listers Oh My!
Thank you all for joining me!
Thanks so much to those of you who’ve donated to

There seems to be season confusion where you are. Hot enought to get a tan one day then snowing the next. Must make it hard to plan your wardrobe.

Congrats of doing your 20 miler! I woke up to a lot of snow today too, so my long run was postponed. Tomorrow it's supposed to be back in the upper 50s, so hopefully I'll get it in then!
Have a good rest day tomorrow! π

Great job! I've never broken up a 20 that way; I would think it would be mentally tough to get out there that second time. One in the bank, though, right?

I am waaaaay behind in blogland and have so missed your posts….
20 miles is 20 miles, it doesn't matter how you get it done as long as you get it done! That's what the cross country coach always tells me! You are coming back so strong….so very happy for you!!!!! π
