This is day 5 of my revisited sugar-free/whole foods diet initiative. It would be sooooo easy to just give it up until the new year….but I will keep fighting to get this train back on track. Some of you have asked me for more details on this so-called diet so here goes:
Where can I find this diet? There may be something out there but I’m winging it. This is basically my attempt to not eat anything processed, refined or sugary.
So what do you eat? Here’s my intake for yesterday:
Breakfast: Protein shake: berries, protein powder, plain kefir, skim milk, splash of oj (sorry no pic). This holds me easily until lunch so no morning snack needed.
Lunch was this badboy: It’s an acorn squash half stuffed with a veggie/quinoa pilaf plus some almonds and dried cranberries…I was dabbling in the kitchen again. I’m not entirely happy with this recipe yet…but I’ll share it after I tweak it a bit more.
Afternoon snack: Honeycrisp apple with some almond butter. And maybe 4 oz. of coffee…to help curb any junk cravings.
Dinner was some roasted sweet potato soup. Recipe is here if you’re so inclined.
100 Pushup Challenge: I completed Week 6, day 3, column 3 the other day. I’m afraid to look. Am I at the end? Am I expected to bang out the whole enchilada next? This is scaring me.
Have a great weekend and stay warm! It’s a veritable heatwave here–8 degrees!

I applaud you for sticking with it this month. So many people I know are saying "On Jan. 1st…" – that is just a set-up for disaster!

Great job with those push ups!!!
About the sugar free plan- are you doing any sugar substitutes? What about all natural stevia? Are you completely cutting of white flour too? I am intrigued…
Teamarcia says
Saundra, no white flour, I usually go whole wheat on flour anyway and I love Stevia in my coffee and in marinades so yes on some sugar subs.

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I am glad to have to have found yours! Your push up challenge sounds awesome! I really need to start doing more push ups. I avoid them because they are so hard, which is why I should probably suck it up and do them. Good job!

First, thanks for commenting on my blog. I just had to visit and I am so glad I did. Love your food choices. Especially the acorn squash… my new favorite.
You're a runner too… I'll definitely need to keep an eye on your training.
I jogged for 10 minutes then my chest hurt and decided just walk—did 2 miles. Still fighting the funk.
