I got my vitamin D test results back the other day. In my case D is for Deficient. My level (25) fell far below optimum (65). Troubling, since I’ve been supplementing for quite some time now. I can’t help but wonder if I have a vitamin D absorption problem? I guess these are issues I can bring up at my annual physical which is conveniently coming up soon…whoopie!
I suppose it’s better that at least I know so I can do something about it. Knowledge is power right?
On the running front: I’m still not doing much. And the miles I do during the week are typically leaden because my CrossFit/P90X regime is taxing the legs. But that’s ok. Buttular fatigue rating: still code orange. But I’m hopeful I’ll be upgrading that to yellow soon! The pushup challenge is going surprising well.
Have a wonderful weekend!

I will be interested to hear what your doctors says about your deficiency. I dont think I am deficient because when they tested last year I remember them just saying my Vitamin B was low. But I still take vitamin D cause its not too sunny outside right now so i need all the help i can get!

I hope the D deficency is easily resloved.
Running and doing P90x is really brining me to a new level of tired! Hang in there! At least we are not alone in our efforts.

I'm also curious on how the doc will tell you to handle the deficiency. What else can you do? 🙁

Here are two good websites that have all the information on vitamin D:
http://www.vitaminDcouncil.org
http://www.vitaminD3world.com
D3 world also has a good newsletter and recently launched a new micro tablet formulation of vitamin D3

You might try a few sessions in a tanning bed for your Vitamin D deficiency. UV light is the best source. Supplements, milk, and fish don't even come close. Just do some short sessions to avoid burning.
