Just like this Grizzly Bear we saw yesterday at the Milwaukee Zoo, I hope all of you find some time this weekend to kick back and enjoy some time off!
In keeping with the Labor Day theme, I thought it would be fun to talk about jobs. Heaven knows I’ve had a few dandy ones! So here goes:
What was your first job?
What is/was your favorite job?
Ok, I’ll go.
My first job was working at the candy/popcorn counter at our local movie theater over the summer when I was 16. Let’s just say I had my fill of buttered popcorn that year…and saw lots of movies too!
Aside from my role as a mom, my favorite job was the last one I had before “retiring” when we moved (temporarily) to the UK back in 1999. I was a Creative Director and really enjoyed working with writers, artists, marketing people, etc. That position had a lot of variety and a lot of deadlines. My days flew by and I was truly sorry to leave.
Next?
And on the theme of “kicking back” I am happy to say, after last week’s rough patches on the training front, I’ve had an attitude adjustment of my own. I’ve done my best to let go of my frustrations, breathe in, breathe out and focus on just enjoying my running journey for awhile. After sleeping in until 6:30am two consecutive days in a row, I’m feeling renewed and refreshed with no more cold symptoms threatening. I took the pressure off of today’s speedwork (1000m, 2000m, 2x1000m) and ran them all a little slower. And for that my hammy/butt was grateful.
