I told you all about last weekend’s Fort2Base Race. But now I’m wondering if it was all just a dream? The race has FREE race pics. Heck to the yes! Who pays those exorbitant race pic prices anyway? Not I usually, although I did for my first marathon…and first Boston….
I digress. So yeah free race pics. I punched in my bib number and got this:
After some scrounging around, I found myself as a blurry photobomb of some other guy’s pic. I’d be lying if I said I cared too much…ok at all….that there are no race pics of me. But still, isn’t that kind of weird?

Nice swag! Too bad about the lack of photos. Maybe they don’t have them all up yet? I have bought some exorbitant photos. And they make me smile. But not from every race.
Wow. So are the photogs less motivated to take lots of pix, knowing they aren’t working on commission anymore? That sucks.

I’m signed up to do RnR Brooklyn. I am also habitually checking flights everyday to Vegas in hopes that I’ll catch some amazing deal and be able to do that one!
Awe what a bummer. I hate when I can’t find my race pics. I was hoping to get a bunch from my last Spartan Race, but there weren’t many. I love your swag box!
In my experience, there seem to be fewer photogs on course when the pics are free. That is a very cute hat!
because I am awesome (or a stalker) I located 2 of you finishing (you finished right near a friend of mine, time wise, so it was easy). they let you search by time of day which is helpful.
one day, I’ll do that race again – I really like it, even if the logistics are a bit of a pain…
That is too bad about the photos. That happened to me at a wedding I went to recently – everyone was looking at the photos of the night and I was no where to be found. We laughed, but it was also kind of sad.
It is so weird that there weren’t any results, at least you found one though. This box looks really great for runners. Thanks for sharing. I’ve never done a rocknroll run yet.

You know, I counted at least five photographers along the course so I thought I’d have a decent selection of photos. I was shocked that I only had one! Wonder what happened to all the rest of them?

I did a race where I didn’t know there were free pics, so I wasn’t in many – because I wasn’t paying attention to the photogs at all. They seem so hit or miss anyway. And maybe there were less, like someone mentioned!

Ha! That happened to me! There was 3 of the SAME shot of me and 6 other runners and despite the 6-7 photographers at the finish line… I got 0 photos, nor in the background of girls finishing within 0.05 seconds of my gun time! Haha, so did I race too 😉
I hate when I don’t make it into race photos! Or have like 1 thats awful. That is a nice box of goodies!
I’ve never not gotten a photo in a race. I have missed out on a result but could prove I was there with race photos. It is kind of weird that they missed you – especially when you’re wearing that cute purple skirt.
I’ve had a few races where I couldn’t find photos of myself also. And they tend to be the races that offer free photos – I guess they can’t justify as many photographers on the course. The portable power source sounds like an awesome thing to have!
The training box was such a sweet surprise, sucks about your race results and pictures though.

They didn’t seem to tag any of me either but if you sort it by location and rough time you were there you can find yourself. They had a lot of photogs on course so I bet that’s not the only one of you!
That IS weird. I know that I get frustrated when I do a fun leap/jump mid race and the photographer says he is ready for me… only to have it NOT be on the photo list after race day. 😉

How ‘official’ were the photographers? On the one hand as the race I wouldn’t have advertised “free race pics” if the photogs weren’t going to capture 99.9% of the people (I’m sure you weren’t the only one). Around here we have a local running magazine that takes pics (for their magazine) but they also share them on FB so you can go and stalk yourself. They do a decent job of capturing people but you can’t always find everyone, but then again, it’s free when they do snap a decent action shot of you. At least you have that great blurry photobomb shot! 🙂 Definitely a keeper.
No race pics is a bummer, but glad you had fun. Thanks for sharing.
